Well, where do I start… We entered the cafe and started to browse for a drink. We were immediately approached and asked if we wanted to eat in or out, if we wanted food or drink, etc. We found this very pushy as we had not even decided if we wanted to have a drink there yet or not. The customer service received after was disgusting. I have never been spoken to or treated like this by an employee before. When we walked in, it was clear to the employee that we were students due to our student IDs and lanyards on show. However we weren't offered student discount and when I requested it on my friends drink that had already been purchased, we were refused. Eventually she gave us the difference, but it took far too long for a simple task that didn't even need manager approval. The staff member was rude and abrupt. She made it clear that we created an inconvenience for her and weren't given the basic standard of customer service we expected. Due to the lack of variety on the menu, I chose not to purchase anything on this occasion, but my friends did. We sat down at a table and I began to eat a snack I had in my handbag. I was then approached by the employee who had been watching me on cctv and was told I couldn't eat any food not purchased here, despite all my friends purchasing items. I felt very alienated by this and couldn't enjoy my visit here. The dishes given to us were dirty and the furniture and walls were in a very bad condition. I came in for a bite to eat and asked if the carrot cake had any dried fruit such as raisins to which the staff said no. after purchasing the cake i went to eat and discovered that it did have raisins in it. a simple mistake, although as a pub/restaurant manager myself believe that team members should know their products. when i brought it back the two female staff members that served me would not acknowledge i was returning the cake while i spoke to a very nice young man who served me, they could clearly hear me and at no point did they offer an apology. when eventually one of the female team member came over to exchange my cake, which i had to wait for even though she was not serving anyone, she did not offer an apology and hardly spoke to me and made me feel that i was am awkward customer. note to your manager, train your team in good customer service, perhaps get the very polite and apologetic young man that served me to...

Occasionally visit this branch. Usually for a take away latte or iced latte.

There’s a few tables outside, what a beautiful view! (See photo) I had a medium iced latte, absolutely lovely. Reasonably priced, £3.30 I think. About £3.70 for a large. My friend had a Caribbean Smoothie. Made to order with frozen fruit. About £4, I think.

Lots of seating inside, comfortable looking chairs. Quiet, calm atmosphere. I’d recommend, especially on a sunny day!
