Hi, I've been a fan of Mizu for quite some time; being well travelled I have experienced food around the world and when Mizu started a number of years ago, the food was very tasty and extremely fresh, as you would expect from asian food. But unfortunately those days have gone... I have seen a long slow decline in the quality and taste of the food and now its at that point that I will never order food from them again. Each time I have ordered over the last number of years, I have been going back later and later, always giving the benefit of the doubt thinking it would get better but it has not. The final order last week consisted of Laksa's and some starters. The Laksa were a sloppy mess, tasting like everything had been chucked into the same pan and finished off with curry sauce from the chip shop without any fresh herbs or additions to bring the flavour to life... awful... The chilli squid as tasty as cardboard; no life, no freshness, no chilli! and the ribs were 95% bone, with elements of meat which tasted like it had been sitting around for weeks... I am gutted that the quality of the food is now at this standard; I have eaten street food in asian, cooked in the worst conditions possible, taste 1000x better than this. Please Mizu, sort this out; the quality in restaurant is mildly better but delivery just doesn't cut it... I have to give 1 star although 1/2 a star is...
Read moreNew review: Ordered my favourite satay rice again today, it was again incredibly disappointing. The satay sauce still tastes different to how it used to, much sweeter and spicier, doesn't taste like it was made on-site as it tastes exactly the same a the Chinese takeaway 5 doors down from me.
Again, this is so disappointing, I can't say I enjoyed the food at all, whatever has changed I don't know, new management or chef maybe? Either way, this is the end of an era for Mizu in my opinion, and I don't think I'll be ordering again.
New review: we ordered last week on the 13th, both had our favourite (the satay chicken rice), unfortunately something has changed and the recipe now tastes a lot sweeter and slightly spicier. Not sure if they got a new chef and they don't cook the same as the chef before or if this was a deliberate change but I'm afraid we weren't fans of it, the flavour used to be a lot more savoury and in a lot of ways very specific to this restaurant when compared to the satay sauce of others, which is a real shame.
Really fast delivery as always, food was piping hot when delivered, just a disappointing taste as we've been coming back for years and are usually excited to have it.
Old review: Always great food, always arrives in around 5 minutes, possibly less. Try the...
Read moreThis pan asian restaurant in the town centre of Ipswich is great. The food is cooked quickly most of the time. I went there as a couple date, and the food was served within ten minutes. If you go there as a group, you'll wait longer of course. They have lots of choice like salads, bento, rice dishes, noodle dishes, currys, soup with noodles and teppan fried noodles. They have sides such as yakitori chicken, prawn toasts, prawn crakers, spring rolls,gyoza... You can have a beer, a juice, wine... They also have a kids menu, as well as gluten-free menu. They have desserts, such as matcha ice cream, and it's really good. So why only four stars? It's because staff is not really smiley or friendly. They look like they don't want to be there. Sorry to say that, but a smiley face is really important when you're a customer. And I've noticed that when I was with my lover as well as with a group of friends. Apart from that it's a great restaurant...
