St Nicholas Sandwich Shop — Restaurant in Ipswich

Not like other sandwich shops... I've only been here once and I plan to come back. For starters they use home made focaccia bread, I'm a bit of a home baker and I can't get mine this good.

I asked if they buy in or do their own beef brisket, and they slow cook it themselves but were about to change the recipe. I get the feeling that everything is hand made which just goes to show the love and care they put into the place.

I tried the philly steak and blue cheese focaccia and I loved it. The potion size was just right and the taste was wonderful. I saw a lady with a salad (maybe I'll try that next time), and that looked wholesome and, again, a good potion size.

Next time I'm in here, I'll try a few more things out like their cakes, salads etc.

With the cost of living crisis and how small businesses are struggling, I'm definitely going to come back and support them.

... OK, I've been back 3 times and everytime the food is great. I work from the office 3 days a week and I think I'll make this a regular stop at least...

I used to grab a chicken and pesto wrap when it was under the previous owners and they were delicious 😋 also staff were friendly and welcoming. I had no idea it had changed hands and walked into a different shop, which offered fresh foccacia bread which is lovely if you like that sort of thing, i dont and was looking for something lighter, like a,wrap or salad bowl. the salad bowls previously were £4.50 and packed full. I was a bit taken aback by the £6.50 and must of offended the chap because i was bluntly told you dont have to have one!! 😳 was trying to weigh up if u had enough money but that immediately decided it for me. I appreciate costs have gone up...but there is absolutely no need to be rude to your potential new customers. Hopefully they will read this and re think how and what they say to customers. I then popped into the sandwich shop over the road sorry don't know the name got a lovely light sandwich for £3.75...

Easily the best sandwich shop in town, cannot praise it enough! Katrina and Andy are so lovely, super friendly, everything is freshly made with high quality ingredients, the combos on the menu are fantastic and the portion sizes do not disappoint! I do not think you can go wrong with anything you order. I unfortunately do not have any photos as the thought of taking a picture of my food is replaced with "I need to eat this asap" when I have the sandwich in front of me 😆 the sweets are delicious too and the coffee is good quality. So no matter what you're after you'll find it here and it won't disappoint. Ps I'm starting a petition to keep the Cuban Reuben on the menu, I cried tears of happiness eating this! 😂💖 Thank you to the team for always providing such great food...
