Hangry Hut — Restaurant in Kirklees

Ordered through Just Eat. Got a message after 30mins to say it was ready - this was at 11.45pm. We don’t walk out with the food until 12.10am. It was really slow, other people, and Uber/just eat collections were waiting too and weren’t too impressed with waiting.

There was only one guy doing it all and then another walked in around 12. So I really felt for him, but surely on a Friday night you would make sure there are at least 2!

Just after walking in we watched our pizzas go in the warmer and our fried food was done and just sat in the basket. Which was cold and over cooked. We didn’t realise it was ours until it was all handed over. The garlic mayo was out of a huge tub tucked next to the fryer. So nice and warm!

The cheesy chips had barely any cheese on, the garlic mayo was inedible, and after watching where they got it from it put us off.

The “garlic” and tomato pizza was just cheese and tomato, really bland and wasn’t very warm by the time we got it.

We heard the milkshakes being made within a minute or so of walking in, by the time we got them they were warm too, as they had been sat there.

We made comments over the time we waited and in hindsight should have complained, I suppose we were hopeful it would be tasty, and knew any replacements etc they need to make would have us waiting there about 20 minutes.

Maybe it was just an off night!

Overall we are really disappointed as we aren’t local and went off the reviews - which looked ok and were 4+...

I thought Pan Asia street food was bad but this place is even lower than them. Am not really fussed about the decor as it looks like a dump anyway. The staff inside are rude who have poor customer service and think it's fair to charge extra prices when asked before does a drink come with a meal and they say yes and when collecting the food, they are charging two pound extra for a can LOL. What I found ironic is the same person thought it was funny to laugh at it, luckily my husband didn't bother punching him and making him look like a shami kebab. Your burger firstly are burnt and tasteless so that's a great start, the chips were stale. We also got a pizza and oh my god, it's the worst pizza in huddersfield. The toppings are hardly cut, big chunks of onions, peppers on it and the chicken wasn't cooked thoroughly. This place is called hangry hut which is pretty spot on, you eat here it will leave you hangry. AVOID THIS PLACE JUST LIKE PAN ASIA STREET FOOD, BOTH BUNCH OF VILLAGERS FROM PAKISTAN...

Friendly enough staff, the one cooking didn't put his phone down for much of it which suggests to me some food hygiene issues but I'm sure I'll he fine. Ingredients listed and advertised on the board (onions and tomato on the cheeseburger) weren't actually available as "we don't buy them any more", had I known that before it was cooked and paid for I'd have walked the extra couple of minutes to someone who did. The cheeseburger I got was ok, flavourless beef patty with a slice of processed cheese, a squirt of mayo and a bit of lettuce on a toasted seeded bun, plus a handful of fries. I'm sure I'd have been less critical if I wasn't sober enough to see what I'd bought and to regret the laziness that had brought me here instead of to the dozens of better choices just a couple of minutes walk away, but I'll know next time to...
