This is my first and last time eating at this establishment. Upon entering Hennie Penny's Chicken I was greeted by the staff/owner who i had told her that this is my first time and was very excited to try there food as i had read their reviews online, she assured me that all the food will be fresh and made to order, so I ordered 3 chicken fillet burger meals with oreo milkshakes and decided to eat in with my kids.
15min later my food arrived, I was surprised to see the size of the burger as I was expecting a standard size burger. Unfortunately, the only fresh item on all 3 meals was the chips. The chicken was barely room temperature, which after a couple of bites, I was getting this unpleasant after taste from the chicken. I could tell the chicken was made couple of hours ago or even possibly the day before and was microwaved to attempt to pass this off for fresh chicken.
Now over to the milkshakes, if your going to overcharge your products, be sure to use quality ingredients. The milkshake tasted like they had used the cheapest tesco saver range vanilla ice cream and blended it with oreo biscuits.
I was gobsmacked with what I was served, upon leaving I was asked by the same person who had initially taken my order how my the food was. So I openly informed her of my thoughts as mentioned above. I could tell by the expression on her face she knew exactly what i was saying but surprisingly she was trying to deny the fact that the chicken was not fresh. What made me laugh was when a 2nd staff member standing next to the person i was speaking to was agreeing with everything I was saying.
I understand if I had ordered the food for takeout as the food would loose temperature along the way home, however, there is no excuse if I am eating in.
It's not about the money, I didn't ask for a refund nor was I offered any sort of resolution from the owner. Very...
Read moreNice food, big portions. My first thought was that it was expensive for what it was. But when my food came in a big box, i realised that you get ripped off at other places & you get great value for your money here. It seems to have got s lot better than what it used to be. Not much of a difference between this and Marstons now! The owner was a nice bloke and the staff were friendly. It was really busy when i was there so it was a little slower but worth the wait. There was too many uber eat/just eat drivers just sat there waiting for orders. People were looking in and leaving thinking that it was too busy. Snd your ketchup is terrible. This is not a complaint but something you may need to...
Read moreAbsolutely shocking! Chicken has an awful aftertaste (we think it was off) , gravy is like bisto, cold chips. We LOVE Marstons but thought we’d try here as it’s a little closer but never again!!! NOT A PATCH ON MARSTONS.
We went in with 80% of the uneaten food and asked why it tasted off, staff were adamant it was fresh and offered a voucher… refused to refund.
