Sushi Cat is the kind of place you stumble upon and instantly want to share with everyone. Tucked away in Lancaster, it's a hidden gem that won't stay hidden for long—trust me, it's that good.
The staff here goes beyond friendly and the expected service, making you feel like an honoured guest at a family gathering rather than just a customer. But let's talk about the star—the food. The food is nothing short of incredible—each dish bursting with authentic Japanese flavours that leave your taste buds in awe. The portions are not only fulfilling but also generously sized, ensuring that you leave with both your appetite and expectations more than satisfied. It also helps that the chef is Japanese and the authenticity really shines through in every bite. Having been to Japan I can assure you that this is not just a standard sushi place but a place of authenticity and real Japanese flavour.
And here's the best part—the prices won't make your wallet cry. If I was in Lancaster all the time, I'd eat here every day. Sushi Cat brings a slice of Japan to Lancaster, and it's about to become your new favourite spot. Don't miss out and definitely treat yourself to some Matcha Basque Cheesecake! 🍰✨
My personal favourites were: Ebi Furai, Karaage Chicken, Takoyaki, Mentago Tamago, and once again the Matcha Basque...
Read moreI was so excited to try this place when I saw it was opening! Went in for the first time today and it was all fantastic! I walked through the door and was met with a big smile and welcome from the staff and the chef, instantly made me feel welcomed and comfortable! The interior had a nice modern style that made it nice to sit on and not just get takeaway. Now let me tell you about the food! It was amazing!!! I got the nigiri platter (and maybe some gyoza because why not) and i was so happy with it! It came with a set of Ebi Furai rolls, wakama, pickled radish and an amazing selection of Nigiri, you got the classic fresh salmon and tuna, cuttlefish and eel as well and then most shockingly to find you got some clam as well as Scallops!! All for £13!! It all tasted so fresh and well made, the rice was soft but pressed well. You could really tell the chef enjoyed what he did because he looked to be enjoying himself while making everything. Overall I couldn't recommend this place any more and will definitely be going back (most likely a couple...
Read moreWhen I first time came to try this Japanese restaurant, the Tamago sushi was lacked of egg flavour. However, when I tried this restaurant for the second time today, I found that the owner had made some changes, the Mentaiko Tamagoyaki tastes exactly like what you can eat in Japan, and the set C it is also a very authentic Japanese flavour.
—————— Here are the comments from my first try.
Matcha latte taste very very bland, with almost no matcha flavour. Tamago sushi also lacked of egg flavour. Unagi was so soft and glutinous that it only becomes delicious thanks to the teriyaki sauce. However, the matcha basque cheesecake is so delicious that it’s worth visiting this restaurant again and again. Overall, the meals at this restaurant were not exactly authentic...
