THROWN OUT AND BLACKLISTED FOR INFORMING THE MANAGER THERE WAS A HAIR IN THE FOOD!!!!
It was my mum's Birthday so decided to take her out to a nice meal we could enjoy together. Firstly, they sat us next to the speaker with extremely loud music blasting out. This was a health and safety issue as it would damage our hearing. We demanded to move, which fortunately we did.
We then ordered our drinks, waited 20 minutes and they brought over a tray full of cocktails which they tried to serve us, these obviously weren't ours. We waited another 10 minutes for our drinks with no luck. Asked the waiter where our drinks were and he said he'll find out. Never heard back from him. Had to ask again 10 minutes later (40 minutes total) and he said he'll find out. Again, no luck hearing back. We asked again for our drinks which we ordered and waited. Came up to about an hour and they finally arrived. When they did arrive we were skeptical about the hygiene of the glasses as they did not look clean.
The whole experience was awkward enough, as a customer shouldn't need to keep reminding the waiter to serve what we ordered. I felt this caused tension between us and the staff, although it was all due to them.
Over an hour later and the food finally came. My mum decided to inform the waiter that the prices are wrong on the website as the the actual prices in the restaurant are over double than that on the website. The waiter said the prices have never been the prices we stated it said on the website. I got my phone out to check, and my mum was in fact exactly right!
The waiter said he'll get the manager and you can tell him. The manager came along all angrily for some reason and wanted to hear what my mum said. My mum told him what she said to the waiter and instead of taking the error on the website on board and moving on with his day, he decided to take offence and started getting aggressive towards my mum and started shouting at her and caused a scene in front of other customers. This was getting extremely embarrassing over something so little.
This put me off my food because, as he kept leaning forward to shout, he was actually shouting with his nose over our food. I don't think he realised he was actually slobbering over our food which we waited over an hour for! Then, one of his hairs fell down into our dal. We then informed him that there was a hair in the dal and we can't eat it now and it needs to go back. This aggravated him further to such an extent he decided he wanted to kick us out!
He then insisted we had to pay for the roti. We told him we can't pay for that as we now have nothing to eat it with, as your hair has dropped in our dal. He shouted "it's up to you if you want to eat it or not but you're paying for it"!
How ridiculous! Forcing us to pay for roti we have nothing to eat with due to HIS hair falling in our food.
We insisted we are not paying for that as any other restaurant would see this fair. He then shouted "JUST GET OUT AND DON'T COME BACK!!!".
To say this is the worst restaurant experience I've ever had is an understatement. I'd never in my life want to go near that place again, and I'd highly recommend you spend your time...
Read moreWorst dining experience ever. I checked the menu and prices a few days before going. When we got seated we were presented with a menu and prices were more than double the website. We ordered drinks and food. We were told food would be about 40 mins. We waited half hour - no drinks arrived. Asked waiter again. Waited another 10 to 15 mins before drinks arrived. Waited another 15 mins - still no food. At this time we had been waiting for our food at least an hour. We had children with us. Because of the poor service I decided to mention the difference in food prices to the manager.
He was very rude and said the prices on website are festival prices and if I had looked closely I would have known. He said I had ordered from the menu and knew the prices before I ordered. I said you are actually getting people in your restaurant with false pretences. People then feel they have to order because you are actually sitting in the restaurant. I would not have said anything but due to lack of poor service I mentioned it in front of my family. They were unaware of the prices. I have since checked the website and prices are still cheaper than the restaurant and no mention that these are festival prices. Naan breads on website says £1 and on menu £2.50 and so on.
Food eventually arrived after waiting hour and half. There was only 3 fish pakoras (£6.95) and about 5 chicken nuggets with a very, very small portion of chips (£4.95) which would have only fed a 2 or 3 yr old. Our thali came after another 10 mins and then there was a hair in it. When we mentioned this to the manager he accused us of putting the hair in it!!!! He got quite aggressive in front of the children.
I am not a complainer and would usually not say anything but felt I had to write this review to...
Read moreWent in here after a visit to the cinema to see avengers end game. The decor looked good, staff were nice etc so we went in. I decided to order the meat platter, 2 of my friends got a curry with rice, and my other friend got the meat platter. For a start, the portions were very small of both the curries and the "meat platter" . This was immediately disappointing when it arrived considering the price. But I'd ordered it so just went ahead to eat it. Ate the shish khebab and fish pakora things, both were like microwave food. When I got to the chicken, I took a bite, and it was basically raw with blood coming out of it. This instantly made me feel sick, so I took it to the Bar man, who said he's sorry and they will take it off the bill. When it came to paying for the meal, another man went to the till, I'm assuming he was a manager, and he said they are going to discount 30% from my meal. I explained what the bar man said, and said I'd ate less than half the plate But he then told me that if I say I'm not paying for it, then it would be robbery This was completely unnecessary as I didn't want to make a scene, but the manager insisted on raising his voice at me. So I just paid for the 70% and left. Very bad experience, ruined my day.
If you're opening a business to serve people "authentic" Indian food. At least serve authentic food, and don't overcharge for small portions of what tasted like microwave food. And also, if someone returns a plate of raw chicken, don't tell them you're sorry, then make them pay for it anyway.
Do yourself a favour, and just go to nandos. I can't see this place being recommended by anyone...
