Bean & Gone Espresso Bar — Restaurant in Leeds

I have really enjoyed bean and gone every time I've been in. The bagels are delicious, as is the coffee and the staff are lovely. I feel Pudsey has been crying out for something like this and it's a quality place and I'd highly recommend.

My one and only criticism (more of a quibble?) Is the laptop policy. I do honestly understand why the needs of a variety of customers and the business need to be balanced. But as an avid coffee shop "worker" I feel slightly put off coming here even during the week (when the policy doesn't apply, to be clear) - but I suppose it makes me feel generally like I would be viewed as a "nuisance".

My feeling is that if the seating was laid out a little differently with more single seats this would be less of an issue? I guess I feel like I pay my way when I work in coffee shops and try to buy multiple snacks and drinks but I feel slightly like a second class citizen whenever I see the policy and I tend to seek out somewhere else such as the library, when otherwise I would likely be a daily visitor.

What a truly lovely place this is, my good friend & new mum brought me here (I’ve never been to Pudsey before!) & what an experience it was from start to finish we were made to feel welcome.

As new mums we are often made to feel like a nuisance when visiting coffee shops due to size restrictions on buggies etc. but as soon as we walked in the staff couldn’t do enough for us.

They were friendly & welcoming, but this experience happened throughout our stay. I can honestly say I’ve visited a lot of coffee places in Leeds & this is by far the friendliest.

The bagels were also divine! It took me so long to choose what to go for because they all sounded amazing.

I have been here a couple of times before so had a level of expectation based on those previous faultless experiences. It was very quiet, with only 3 other customers already seated and served, so my order for Latte and a Bagel was taken immediately at the counter. The delicious coffee arrived within seconds. I watched the staff deal with a new customer while I waited for my bagel. There was considerable chatter between the staff, long enough for me to finish my coffee, bagel-less! Eventually, after approximately 20 minutes, it appeared that my bagel request was suddenly remembered but, while I watched what I assumed to be my bagel being crafted, it still took another 5 minutes to appear!
