Uncomfortable seating, poor poor service, 40 minute wait for food once ordered and it was not busy in the shop just 2 other customers one of which had been served and second was served about 15 minutes after we arrived. The paratha was so thick and heavy you could probably knock someone out. I came here after approx 5/6 years, came when it first newly opened and then today. Should have stayed away. Aloo bhujia is the most blandest thing ever. Had to add plenty salt to make it edible and I have never added salt to a dish in my life. My friend recommended it so I tried. The miniscule portion of Achar and onion made my 3 bites of the chana masala worthwhile but then the rest was too bland for me to eat. Puris came out half cracked meaning they had been left after being taken out of the fryer and were getting cold. Once the onion and achar was gone I was done. No taste no flavour, people of leeds have either zero taste buds or they lather on the salt when they get the food because I can't understand the good reviews when the food is this bland. Tea was the only best bit as it was very good. But the food was a joke. Will...
Read moreNever had a problem coming here until now. Poor customer service from the girl with headscarf. First of all she was rude and didn’t seem like she wanted to work there as if she was forced to work. She took my payment and charged me for someone else food. Then I sat down on my table to eat in the food come and she got it packed for takeaway and then lied saying I said it’s for takeout. Why would I sit somewhere and get the table cleaned if I was not eating in? So anyways I just ended up taking the food out because it was packed and then came home and the order was wrong!! Never coming here again! If you don’t want to work somewhere and do your job properly then you should seek another job. Lazy worker who doesn’t give a toss about customers or even listen. Never coming again sorry you guys lost a customer who’s been coming here every week for the...
Read moreAs a regular customer of Chai Walay, I was shocked and extremely disappointed by the service during my recent visit. Despite placing my order well before another table with more than double the number of people, they were served first. We were initially told our food would take 20 minutes, but it took significantly longer.
When we politely approached one of the male servers to ask why this was happening, especially since we were in a rush, he responded with attitude and threatening behavior, saying that they were also in a rush. This level of unprofessionalism and aggression is unacceptable.
There are plenty of great desi breakfast places with better customer service. I wouldn’t recommend Chai Walay for families. I hope management addresses these issues promptly to prevent future customers from having a similarly...
