Disgusting behaviour from the staff. I arrived with friends last night at around 10 and we weren’t served our order until a little after 10:30 which is understandable, however, whilst my friends and I were talking, we were rudely asked to leave.

I politely explained to the gentleman that if they were closing at 11:00 they should have informed us and we wouldn’t have ordered as much as we did, however, they were happy to take our order but then didn’t feel bad asking us to leave before we had finished.

Then to put the icing on the cake when we went to pay the bill, we were told that the prices on the menu are ‘2019’ prices and apparently we were supposed to ask the waiter for the new prices of each item that we ordered. Under the Trade Description Act 2003 restaurants must display the price of food and displaying incorrect prices is an offence under the Act.

They were persistent that every other order they had on the same day was fine and we were the only group making an issue about their misleading prices and the owner/manager stood and argued for nearly 30 minutes but wouldn’t admit...

We arrived here and from the start the service was awful. It took the waiter about 10-15 mins to greet and acknowledge us. Then we were seated in an area which felt like a sauna! Very hot, and uncomfortable. Kids were running around everywhere which is not acceptable during COVID times. The waiter took ages to even take our order. Everything took too long. There was NOT adequate ventilation, or Air con in the place. They only had 2 fans for 6 booths which is very poor in terms of Covid safety. The quality of the food has gone steeply downhill, it was bland, dry, and had no flavour. The Lamb was lovely, but needed a sauce. We were ignored because there was a big group of ppl - but they were not equipped to deal with the amount of customers they had. We rang the bell for service - but STILL had to go downstairs ourselves a number of times after waiting 15-20 mins for service! We will not be returning, and we do not recommend. Please avoid for your...

Great experience passing thru Leeds and stopping for late lunch at this place.

We were having north and called 20 mins ahead of arrival but still took another 20 mins for food to arrive.

We had a lamb and chicken karahi, kabuli pulao, chapal kebab, chicken tikka, and lamb chops.

Karahis, both on point, exactly what I would expect from an afghan place and reasonably priced, no stupid £30 a kilo here.

The chapal kebab are probably the best I've had, super crispy edges, beautifully spiced and seasoned and moist and juicy in side. Chicken tikka was meh, but the lb chops perfectly grilled and simply seasoned.

Naan, awesome, and we went thru all naan delivered. We didn't even tell them how many we need they just knew!

Kabuli pulao was also great with a generous portion of rice and fall of the bone lamb.

Like I said everything was reasonably priced and I would defo...

Chopan Restaurant is a hidden gem for anyone who loves authentic Afghan cuisine. From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed by a warm atmosphere and traditional Afghan décor that sets the mood. The unique floor seating adds to the cultural experience, allowing you to dine in the traditional Afghan style that’s both comfortable and memorable. The food is exceptional – from tender, juicy kebabs to flavorful rice dishes and freshly baked naan. Each bite is rich with authentic spices and cooked to perfection. Portions are generous, and presentation is simple yet inviting. The staff are incredibly polite, attentive, and always ready with a smile, making you feel like a valued guest rather than just a customer. Whether you’re here for a family meal, a cultural dining experience, or simply to enjoy some hearty Afghan flavors, Chopan delivers on every front.

Authentic Afghan cuisine presented in true Afghan style. Host Mateen Jan and Kareem and the serving lady were warm, accommodating and hospitable in a manner truly representative of the Afghan culture. These guys keep it plain, simple and clean serving the tastiest food in most generous portions leaving you with no chance of asking for more. Kabuli Pulao was excellent with soft tender juicy meat. Chapli Kebabs were very well made. Qehwa (traditional Afghan green tea) is a must have at the end after such heavy food and is served with traditional jaggery. Go take your family and enjoy a good hearty meal freshly served in a hygienic environment- all at a very reasonable price.
