We recently visited Cinnamon Kitchen in Leeds and were immediately impressed by the restaurant’s stunning interior — it has a beautiful, classic British charm that makes you feel welcome the moment you step in. The service was equally pleasant; the waitresses were friendly, accommodating, and genuinely attentive throughout our meal. Their professionalism is the only reason we chose not to remove the service charge.
Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about the food. It was, quite frankly, a huge disappointment — particularly given how promising everything else was. We ordered several dishes, but the most concerning was the Malabar Boatman’s Fish Curry. The fish tasted frozen, as if it had been stored far too long, and the curry itself was shockingly oily. It completely overpowered any flavour or freshness the dish might have had.
We even mentioned our concerns to the waitress after paying the bill, as we felt it was important feedback to share. It’s genuinely disheartening, because we loved the restaurant’s look, atmosphere, and service, but the food quality was far below expectations — and certainly not reflective of the restaurant’s otherwise high standards.
Please, management — we say this sincerely: if you want guests to keep coming back, the kitchen desperately needs a professional, qualified chef who understands both authentic Indian cuisine and the refined expectations of modern British dining. The potential is absolutely there, but right now, the execution in the kitchen is letting the entire place down.
When we first walked in, our immediate thought was, “We must bring our friends and family here.” After our meal, sadly, it became “We won’t be returning — not until we hear there’s been a serious change in...
Read moreMe and my partner are massive fans of Indian food and so we have been to basically every Indian restaurant and takeaway in the area. Rice is the ONLY one we have been loyal customers to as their food is top notch and for fantastic prices! In particular they specialise in rice, they really live up to their name, nowhere else can I eat such a detailed and perfectly flavoured dish of lemon rice! Of course their main dishes are also delicious and I've never had anything to complain about. We have eaten in and out enough times and the service is always excellent no matter what, if you do decide to eat in, the atmosphere is also really pleasing with it's soft, rich colours. Because of it being quite small inside, it feels best when it starts to fill up with people. The value for money is unbeatable, you can go on a Wednesday evening and get a three course meal for only £9, you do have to choose from a short selection of mains but they have all the popular ones! Highly recommended little restaurant, please show your support by paying...
Read moreWe came here just from ratings and we're are work mates staying near by so a brief walk from the premiere Inn just down the road! Well I am so very glad we found this place! The food was incredible! We had a set menu which came with poppadoms and dip then a set starter which was a sharer with loads of options. I had a chicken dopiaza for the main which was perfect! Full of flavours and really really nice! With a peshwari naan... I just love peshwari! Mmmm! My work mates had the dish with like 25 or so ingredients in it and they could not speak highly enough of it! Said it was beautiful! Topped off with a couple of pints of cobra and very friendly staff! Could not ask for more! If I stay down this way again I will definitely visit...
