Located about 9 miles to west of Leeds city centre along the busy A65 the park is a nice surprise if you don’t know its there . It’s got open access from all four corners but no real car parking except on the roads round the edges . There is a small car park off the A65 at Guiseley in the direction of Nunroyd house and green lane cricket club . It’s basically a wide open space well used by dog walkers and there are no hills . There have been a couple of footpath additions which improve access but mainly the ground is very soft to walk on if you stray off the footpath. Wheelchair/pushchair access is not too bad on the new paths and the maintained ones but not advisable to stray onto the leaf covered muddy other footpaths which limits disabled access in some areas . It’s a good walk to get to the exercise equipment up near Sainsbury’s local on Queensway and I believe there is a new commemorative garden area in the park too . It’s fine for walking and seeing the ducks etc Probably good for picnics too in the better weather once the grounds...
Read moreGreat place to play games, walk dogs, meet up or just have a gentle walk around, very popular with local youngster's as there are sports pitches and varied apparatus for them to use and play on, there's even a dry pitch area that is ideal for kids with radio controlled toys and learning to cycle.
There is also a nice small lake/pond with various wildlife including ducks and swans to see, I would like to see somewhere to get a drink or snack at busy periods once the social distancing restrictions are lifted and think this may encourage people to stay a...
Read moreNunroyd is a nice spot. Plenty of car parking off the busy A65. It hosts a cricket pitch, rugby pitch, and a fishing pond (rod license & subs required to fish it, otherwise its nice to look at and watch the wildlife!), small playground, and hard surface area, and plenty of grassed park to get your dog for a run etc, or whatever you want to use it for.
