I went with a friend of mine to have breakfast we ordered one decaf cappuccino with coconut milk and one chai latte with oat milk we waited about 10 mins when the decaf came first I checked with the waiter that is was indeed decaf with coconut milk he confirmed it was. I opened the complimentary biscuit you get with the decaf ate it was about to drink my decaf when the waitress came over with two more drinks one chai latte with oat milk and a decaf cappuccino with coconut milk I was confused as she then gave my original order to another customer who looked a bit confused as to why her drink ended up at my table. Nevertheless she confirmed my decaf cappuccino was correct. My friend and I drank our drinks and ate our breakfast which was lovely no fault there. But then my friend re-ordered the same hot drinks again. I got half way through my drink I started to feel very unwell as my friend noticed too I asked the waitress if this was decaf she smelled the cup and said ‘ oops ‘ no apology or anything , i replied I think that drink is coffee as I have an intolerance to coffee hence why I drink decaf. I started to feel unwell and dizzy felt very sick. I told my friend think I need to go home.when I got home I was very sick and upset stomach pretty much wiped me out for the rest of the day so I know it was coffee and not decaf. My friend also said she felt it was not oat milk as she is lactose intolerant and she was unwell also that evening. We will not be going again. It was my friends first time and she said that would be her last as she can’t risk being unwell because they got the order wrong or not listened properly. Just make sure your drinks are correct as they seem to not care if there is an error. Wouldn’t mind but been about 2 months before this incident last friday and service was lovely and correct food but was different waiter and...
Read moreReally wanted Corner House to succeed. The area very much needed a cafe bar to compete against Chapel A down the road. Loved it when it first opened, great decor, nice selection of drinks and snacks. In the March lockdown, we ordered takeaway to try and help support this relatively new business. Unfortunately it was late and cold but we forgave that given it was a new way of working for them. But the nail in the coffin is that we have now visited 3 times in a row to find a note on the door to say it was closed despite being within the advertised opening hours. Unfortunately, I’m not prepared to head there a 4th time not knowing whether it will be open or not so the Deer Park has benefitted instead. In an attempt to be helpful, perhaps post on social media ahead of needing to close early when required to save wasted trips for...
Read moreThe last time I came here the breakfast I ordered took about 40 minutes to arrive. O decided to give it a another shot today, some months have passed. There was a table of five and a table of two when I arrived so the place was pretty much empty. I ordered a coffee as I sat down and, after having neither of the two waiting staff make an effort to come and take my order, went to the counter to order. I asked how long the food would be, conscious of my last experience, and was told it would be about half an hour if possible....what are they doing in there? Waiting for the hen to lay the eggs? I gave up and just paid for the coffee I wouldn't have ordered if I'd have known and sat down. The table of 5 started receiving their food as I took my seat so not sure what else they were doing in the kitchen?...
