My first time dining at a Residence . Nice decor . Staff are very friendly and attentive.

As a local was very much looking forward to dining at Moortown Residence.

Truly disappointed with my vegetarian breakfast. The mushrooms were bland, no flavour almost like tinned ? Reminded me of a hotel buffet. Hash brown greasy. The odd combination of mediterranean veg for breakfast completely spoilt it for me . Swaps are not allowed . First place I have dined that has this policy .

I would also like to point out there is a sneaky charge for hot water . It isn't stated on the beverage menu . I have no issue paying for it but I do expect to be told ! Any charge should be made transparent.

Went to try Residence on their opening day. Free coffee for the first 3 days was a nice touch. On a normal day it's £4.50 for an oat latte which is expensive, however the coffee was lovely and it was large and strong.

My food was a bit disappointing. I got the Residence Hash. The veggies, tomato sauce and potatoes were unfortunately all quite bland. Would be improved with some paprika, garlic, herbs for example. The halloumi was a bit sad and soggy. The presentation undersells the portion size, it's a good portion. I passed on the seasoning feedback to staff so hopefully it might improve.

The staff were lovely and the cafe has a good atmosphere. Music not too loud, I think there was air con. My coffee and food arrived fairly quickly.

Had my first experience at Residence today after seeing good reviews and how delicious the food looks on social media, but unfortunately I was left highly disappointed and disheartened 😞 It’s the first time I’ve had pineapple juice that didn’t taste like pineapple, the buttermilk chicken burger was very bland and had no flavour or seasoning. The burger sauce was ok but wasn’t spectacular, it was like sauce out of a bottle and the red cabbage coleslaw was just cabbage with mayo no flavour and just like the burger it tasted like no effort was put into making it. My friend had a few bites of her sandwich and said the same thing and mentioned that her hash browns were greasy.
