It was a Sunday after 11am so I'm taking that into consideration giving my review, but still it shouldn't be an excuse.... Place looked well taken care of, apart from toilets that need some attention. We sat down without any previous booking and place was already busy but lots of staff. We ordered 2 coffees and an apple juice that came very quick. Then, the farmhouse breakfast, Eggs Benedict and kids pancakes. Pancake looked delicious, our daughter almost finished her pancakes before our breakfast was brought to the table and by then our coffees were cold and almost empty mugs. In the meantime we asked more syrup as the tiny sample of syrup for 3 good size pancakes was not going to be enough as it didn't even covered the pancakes from start. My daughter had to actually stop eating as it was taking that long to get the syrup. Had to ask for syrup to another waitress which brought it promptly. Breakfast was then all in the table.... Dear me. £15.95 for a full English breakfast that didn't have hash brown nor black pudding, it was 2 miserable streaky bacon rather than back bacon and was more fat than actual meat, which I'm going to let it slide as its a matter of preference but for the price, it should be at least a few more. The slices of bread had some kind of fat, which it was either grease from the grill where everything else was done, or they've brushes some kind of fat in them (not described in the menu) which rendered them to be left in the plate. The eggs Benedict were with same bacon, same issue, all taken off and left on the side of the plate, these were bearly cooked let alone crispy. The crumpet was so hard at the bottom that I couldn't cut it with the knife and once I flipped it I could squeeze the grease off them... Again, I know it's a matter of preference but definitely not something I expected to see, not from a place with the reviews it has. Waitresses didn't seem happy apart from the one that actually picked our plates and seemed genuinely interested in knowing if everything was alright... We said everything was ok with a sarcastic smile and waitress actually said that we could say what was wrong but we said just to let it go... I got to the point that, I don't bother anymore because it's perceived as we, the customer, doesn't want to pay so I rather just leave and never comeback. After paying we realise we paid £1 for the extra syrup... Should've taken pictures but it was Sunday.. just...

This place was phenomenal. It doesn’t look like much from the outside and to be honest it’s easy to overlook it for another eatery. But this place has become one of my regular favourites for Leeds. The menu is very heavily favoured for breakfast/lunchtime so it’s not too suited for evening meals, in fact, I believe they close near the evening which further proves this. The menu is almost reflective of a continental breakfast style; offering many variations of different breakfasts throughout the world. From a classic full English all the way through to a huevos rancheros. The prices are slightly higher than other breakfast restaurants and cafes but honestly I’m very inclined to just ignore it to some extent as the quality is major. The aesthetics of this establishment are very modern and stylish. It doesn’t heavily skew its style in a certain way, instead it chooses to just have its own unique style in a modern way. The seating is aplenty and can cater to dates/friend catchups or entire family meals. Booking in advance is also an option and in my opinion highly recommended as this place can get very busy in an instant. The hot drinks are also delicious and they soothe the soul just like any other coffee shop. The staff are just as pleasant as the decor which creates a really safe and enjoyable atmosphere. I actually wanted my full English modified from the menu and the waitress offered to replace it with something else free of charge which was a great little surprise. This along with prompt bill receiving and a friendly attitude really made the visit worth it. It’s things like this that really helps a restaurant thrive; especially in today’s economy. I’d highly recommend anyone goes here for a morning breakfast with a partner as I do with mine and pretty much always leave...
Read moreI've dined here before and I thoroughly enjoyed my experience the first time round.
Today, I returned with my friend and my dog; the place was pretty quiet, there was only one other table in when we entered. The waiter was friendly, seated us and took our order. There was a female member of staff who was lovely and offered my dog a free sausage and gave him lots of fuss.
However, when the waiter brought over our coffees my dog put his front paws on the table and I was in the midst of telling my dog 'off' when the waiter shouted DOWN at my dog, which is the wrong cue, so when my dog didn't respond the waiter then pulled on my dog's lead. I understand restaurants won't want dogs on the furniture which is why I was trying to rectify the situation. I do not tolerate anyone reprimanding my dog, his behaviour is my responsibility so if you have an issue, address me. Do not intervene. It is dangerous to do so as you never know how a dog might respond to a stranger's touch. The waiter did not apologise but informed me that they do not tolerate animals on the furniture and that it upsets their other customers. We were left stunned by the audacity and frankly it ruined the atmosphere before our food had even arrived.
Whilst we were eating, a woman with young children came in for dinner and sat on a table nearby. We heard the same waiter tell off her children (who weren't even being remotely loud) saying "woah woah woah we don't have any shouting in here". I did inform the female member of staff what happened and she was understanding and apologetic.
As soon as we finished our meals we paid and left as we just felt uncomfortable...
