Came on a work social, so no idea how much it was to book in for an hour and a half with food and drinks. I arrived late and got a pint myself, the screen of the card reader facing away from me so I couldn't see how much it was, but I'm sure I saw the tip option already selected. Not too fussed about leaving tips of course but the sneaky way the staff did it annoyed me. Over £6 for a pint, and I wouldn't say me going to the bar and getting a drink warrants a tip... Then set up in our booths, the staff did come over to us for a drinks order. We all got one, fine, but immediately afterwards, the pre booked drinks came out. So we had so much of it laid about and the drinks order we just made (and paid separately for) simply wasn't needed and was just a tactic to make us spend more. The food was pretty bland pizza (it looks like the only food on offer is the naff stuff with high profit margin). And again, a service charge is added I was told. These were ordered beforehand and the only thing the staff did really was bring it out of the kitchen. How else do we get the stuff we've already booked/ordered and paid for... I get we can all ask for service charges to be removed, but why have them on as default, particularly in situations there literally isn't an alternative to how it's served. Luckily the night was all a good do, and the games on the darts were different and fun. The vibe of the place pretty cool. Luckily I personally only paid for an expensive pint, the rest covered by...
Read moreWhat a genius idea for a brunch! Booked this for a group of 6 girls one Saturday and every single one loved it! On arrival you are shown to your table where your pre ordered drinks are waiting for you. You could choose a bottle of prosecco or 4 bottled beers per person. Everyone had opted for Prosecco. They also had a jug of orange in case you wanted to make mimosas along with a jug of water and plenty of spare glasses. Very well thought out! This is also where your unlimited pizza is served, this is pretty decent pizza too (choice of 3)! You are given half an hour to sit and enjoy this and make a start on your drinks. Once your half hour is up, you are moved to your own area to start your games of darts. Your drinks and pizza are moved with you so you don't feel rushed one bit. You get half an hour to work your way through the various games of darts which were a lot of fun! Your final half hour, you are moved back to the bar area to finish your drinks which we seemed to have quite a lot left so stayed for way longer but ! nobody was being kicked out. It's really nice to go for a brunch where you're not just knocking drinks back to get your money's worth and bog standard food. This was such a refreshing change a fun activity in a relaxed atmosphere, well worth it's money! Can't...
Read moreCame on Valentine’s Day just for drinks and it was pretty quiet when we were there, was told by a waiter that we could order drinks to our table via the bell which we thought was fantastic. Had a browse through the menu and picked our drinks and ran the bell. No one came over. My boyfriend then went to the bar to get our drinks several times, no dramas but what is the point of the bell? After a little bit of time a waiter came over as our drinks were low and offered to get us another drink, it wasn’t till we received the bill for that round that we were charged a service charge which we wasn’t told about and was informed it is on any of the drinks being delivered. We think it is outrageous to charge us nearly £2 just to bring our drinks to us from the bar which isn’t more than 25 steps! If we knew that we would have continued to get the drinks ourselves. After challenging the waiter who informed us he can’t remove the charge we decided to leave an hour into our 2 hour booking. Disgusting to add without at least making it...
