We ordered our wedding cake from Jodie and could not recommend Jodie Bakes enough!

I sent Jodie multiple reference photos, explained my vision and how I wanted a white cake with a dark red filling, with the vintage piping and skulls.

The booking experience was clear and easy, Jodie responded quickly and is super friendly. When booking I thought the cost was reasonable, however when I picked the cake up I was beyond impressed with the amount of effort put into the quality of the cake.

When I collected the cake, the bakery is really easy to find, plenty of street parking right outside. Jodie came straight to the door and had my cake ready and waiting, she then put the cake in my car to ensure it was safe and undamaged.

We got SO many compliments on how beautiful the cake was, we could not of been happier with how it turned out. The piping was absolutely beautiful and the little white chocolate skulls were perfect. I don't have a photo of the inside but it was a beautifully rich chocolate cake with a red tint, it was incredibly moist and soft. Most of the cake was eaten at the wedding, but we still had lots left to enjoy for ourselves and it kept perfectly for over a week.

I ordered my husband’s 30th birthday cake from Jodie - one of the very berry cakes with raspberry jam instead of strawberry - and it was the best cake I’ve ever bought! We are something of Victoria sponge fanatics in our household and we’ve sampled an awful lot of them. This one trumps all. The sponge was so light and fluffy and moist, and the buttercream was perfect, not too sweet. The jam, sponge and buttercream ratio was excellent and the cake was super pretty. I could and would eat this all day. Unfortunately, all of it went within the first 20 minutes of it being cut at the party (OK, at least 1/5th was me alone)!

Jodie was also really kind and helpful when I contacted her and she even arranged for the cake to be dropped off as they happened to be in the area which was so thoughtful and saved me a trip on a busy day party prepping. I wholeheartedly recommend Jodie and will be ordering for any and all events...

Not only did it smash the design brief, it tasted absolutely delicious too. I think almost everyone who attended the party remarked about how awesome it looked and then when it was served, made a point of telling me how good it tasted.

Advice on the appropriate size cake for the amount of people was spot on. It was huge, everyone got a decent slice and there was enough left for a sugar boost to help us through the hungover post party cleaning up the following day.

Communication throughout the whole process was superb, even arranging delivery. It arrived well packaged with helpful care advice on the sticker. The price was excellent value, especially considering the obvious quality of the ingredients, craftsmanship and care.
