I used to love a Saturday afternoon out in Leeds back in the day. Was always happy hour in the afternoons at QC. Went out yesterday and this seems to have stopped, also the other bars around do not seem to do happy hour anymore on Saturday afternoons, what a shame, used to be a really good day out, but now it's just too expensive to do it often. Wonder why the happy hour as stopped, hope it isn't a pick and choose happy hour where some get cheaper prices and others don't.
update wow, what a quick response! I haven't given a negative review, I gave an average 3 stars as i felt the experience average and prices over priced, but I guess it is what it is. It was more of a review about how things used to be and how it's now an expensive day put and not as good, not everyone earns massive wages, for many people 2 drinks will be an hours wage!
I obviously do not know how your tills work or anything, it was just a remark as surprisingly I have visited places in that past that do have a 2 teir happy hour, if your know you get the happy hour, if you aren't then you don't. I'm glad that you do not operate this way, but please do not be surprised that this does happen in the world.
If I leave a review of the other bars or not is my perogative, I certainly won't be putting it to you which bars I have and which I haven't reviewed.
If you are a managed chain bar then it is a surprise that you do not do the happy hour anymore, just cos others don't doesn't mean you can't some other bars are independent so can see why maybe they can't. No need for the big chain managed places to jump on the band wagon just cos the "others haven't done it since covid"
People are looking for value at the moment so it's shame, I definitely wouldn't return to Leeds as often as it is just becoming too...

A recent visit to this establishment left a sour taste in our mouths - and not just from the poorly made cocktails. Our credit card company flagged the transaction as potentially fraudulent, and upon further investigation, we discovered that this bar has a history of shady dealings.
The bar's advertising tactics are misleading, to say the least. A prominent sign at the entrance touts happy hours and discounts, but don't be fooled - these promises are empty. We were not given any discount, despite asking about it specifically.
But the problems don't stop there. The bartender seems inexperienced and unable to craft a decent drink. We ordered a simple cocktail, but what we got was a watery, tasteless concoction that bore little resemblance to what we asked for.
To top it all off, the bar's atmosphere is uninviting and uncomfortable. The decor is lackluster, and the music is too loud. It's clear that this bar is more interested in making a quick buck than in providing a quality experience for its customers.
Overall, our experience at this bar was a complete disappointment and a warning to others: be cautious when using your credit card at this bar, and don't expect much in terms of quality or service. There are far better...
Read moreWe called into Queens Court on Saturday night. On ordering 2 gin & tonics, I was shocked to be charged over £20 which was double what we had paid in other bars. When I queried the cost, the girl that served me stated that they serve doubles as standard unless you specify that you want a single measure and pointed to an inconspicuous notice at the side of the bar detailing this . I frustratingly pointed out that I had only wanted singles, and obviously had not seen the sign, she was indifferent to my complaint, so I asked to see the manager. Another girl approached stating she was the manager and also had the same couldn’t care less attitude as the previous girl to my grievance, reiterating that the sign was clearly displayed informing of the serving measures. I strongly disagreed as I had not seen it, adding that the sign is clearly positioned to not be visible.. We left the bar vowing never to return. We were so aggrieved at this covert, underhand tactic designed to clearly boost their profits by conning unsuspecting customers. It is no surprise that for a peak time on a Saturday night, the bar was virtually empty, and the 4 bar staff were stood around with no one to serve, I can only assume as more people choose to not frequent this...
