It's been years since restaurant food made me audibly wow out of my seat on the first bite, like here!
Usually, I have to keep my stomach light before eating out, but that day I could not stop eating and eating, my plates were spotless by the end.
• Piping hot fresh food - you can taste the quality in the ingredients, and the flavours are spot on and natural - it's not just loaded with salt. You can really feel the knowledge & care the chefs have.
• You will never see oil or butter - but the food will quietly have the perfect amount, and no more.
• A common problem with Indian restaurants in the UK, is that dishes are dumbed down to appeal to westerners and authenticity is missed, doing the dishes injustice. The complete opposite is true here!
• Very clean - chefs had hair covers, all tables were immaculate and not sticky, dishes were also completely spotless.
• Lovely cosy location and atmosphere. Great lighting, no odd smells, building in top notch condition.
• Brilliant service - waiters were beaming and visibly enjoyed their work. The owner was present and working too. Both returned our enthusiasm for the food in great helpings!
The manager even showed me the kitchen upon noticing my satisfaction! I cannot stress enough, the sheer passion the owners have for their work, you will feel it when talking to them. They really really care about quality and the image of Indian cuisine.
It truly felt like we were back home in India, visiting someone’s house for dinner, that’s the level of honesty and love they invest here.
It's very rare that an Indian restaurant nails food presentation, atmosphere, cleanliness, service, prices, food quality, and accuracy of dishes, so perfectly, all at once.
You heard it from us, this is one of the best Indian restaurants in the UK - you will not find quality like elsewhere. Aarti is way more than just the food - it’s an entire experience you won't forget!
This was such a refreshing surprise, especially with all the problems in the world right now - it's like this restaurant is stuck in...
Read moreWe visited Aarti restaurant recently, and unfortunately, the overall experience was very disappointing. Right from the moment we entered, there was no welcome or greeting, and no staff member guided us to a table. We had to seat ourselves, which immediately felt unprofessional and uninviting. The service throughout our visit lacked warmth and attentiveness, which made the atmosphere quite unpleasant.
We ordered Tandoori Roti, Chicken Tikka Masala, Paneer Kadhai, and Rice. To our surprise, the so-called Tandoori Roti was nothing more than an ordinary tawa roti, without the smoky flavor or texture one would expect. The Chicken Tikka Masala was especially poor it was overly sweet, completely off balance in taste, and had an excessive amount of artificial coloring that made it look unnatural and unappetizing. After washing two times, my hand with the soap still there was colour on my hand.
When the so-called Tandoori Roti arrived, it was just a plain tawa roti. We asked to change it, but the owner, Ms. Aarti refused in an unprofessional manner. Even when we requested to exchange it with naan, she still denied, which was very disappointing.
Overall, both the food quality and the hospitality were far below expectations. The lack of proper service, the careless preparation of dishes, and the use of artificial additives left a very negative impression. Based on this experience, I would not recommend Aarti and certainly...
Read moreWe got attended to very quickly. The people working were so friendly, especially Shyam! He made sure we are comfortable, gave us good suggestion, and ensured amazing customer service. The food was delectable, and there were shots on the house. I have discovered an absolute gem! 💎 will return soon for the thaali.
We had: Laal Toofan beer: light, crisp and so smooth. Taking it from someone who takes 20 mins to finish a pint of beer chugged it right down. 😆 Popadom platter with mint sauce and mango chutney: the popadom platter reminded me of my childhood, I showed my English partner how we used to stick the colourful fryums up our fingers as a kid and eat them slowly! 😋 Pinot Noir Wine: Say less, went well with the curry! Non veg thali (1 Poori, Rice, Chicken Tikka Masala, Dal Makhani, Chole, Popadoms, Pickle, Salad, Rice Pudding): was just what I was looking for tonight, the poori was not smelling like yeast unlike most curry houses in Leeds, the curries were so authentic spicy and flavourful, the rice was good quality, the kheer was exactly what a Bengali girl needed for her birthday week #ifyouknowyouknow! 😉 Tandoori roti: Again! I hate rotis/pooris/naans in Leeds but this place has my heart for not anglicising the breads. Exactly how my mom makes at home! Soft, thin and buttered up 🤤
You bet we are going back to try the...
