Visited yesterday for lunch as part of my daughters birthday celebrations. The restaurant was completely empty on arrival. Friendly waitress, menus explained, drinks and food ordered. We both ordered quesilladas, which comes with fries, my daughter is coeliac and therefore ordered gluten free. On arrival of the food we thought it might be fun to swap with each other to try the different fillings so I asked if there were both gf, the waitress went to check. To my horror on her return, she advised us that even though she had put the order through as gf, the kitchen had not used gf ingredients, totally unreasonable and unforgivable as we were the only diners in there… the food was removed and replaced with gf except the fries, which were returned cold, how difficult would it have been to replaced the fries aswell? All this resulted in me having to return to my car to put more time on the car park, a whole lot of stress and an uncertainty as to whether the replacement was really actually gf. The waitress apologised but clearly it was the fault of the kitchen. Unsure whether it was lack of understanding of gf (which is due to coeliac disease not a diet choice), laziness or just not caring, an explanation was not offered and neither was any form of compensation or apology from the chef. Another couple entered the restaurant after us who also ordered gf options, I hope they had a better...
Read moreCame in on Wednesday afternoon, only one other table occupied. Friendly enough welcome and seated quickly 5-10 minutes passed and we ordered drinks and food. Soda water with lime and Nutella milkshake (both were good and true to taste) We ordered calamari, chicken wings, pork bites(can't remember exactly what they were called) and nachos with a chicken burrito. Rather than wait for everything to be cooked, and come out together I asked for them to come out when ready. Obviously the waitress didn't hear or understand me. It all came out together which was disappointing as someone the food was cool(edible but cool) Pork bites were massive fatty and not alot of meat, plus drowned in the sauce. I enjoyed the calamari, tender and decent batter, but my wife did not. Too processed( same shape/batter content etc) Chicken wings were the best of the lot, decent sweet sauce and tender Nachos were good, fried and crispy with lots of sour cream and guacamole, only downside was the cheese it was dumped on the bottom layer and had practically welded this layer together. Burrito was flavourless, no chicken taste at all, it did have a lot of chicken but no flavour. Can't recall of the waitress asked how our food was, but on this occasion it was forgettable! Won't be going...
Read moreGLUTEN FREE! For all those like my wife. The food, the food! Next time I'm taking pictures, the presentation is perfect. OK the nitty gritty. The 1st time we went they had a new chief and like anyone at a new job they were slow and it did take longer then it should, but wow, when the food came my and, mouth, eyes and ears were watering. I'll be honest, I would never had thought the food would be this exceptional, everything was like it just came off the stove, nothing under done everything steaming hot. The second the food took an appropriate time to arrive. The staff is very friendly and look after you. Now you asked about the gluten free. Well my wife who can not have any gluten what so ever, has not had any problems at all, this is always an issue when we eat out at somewhere new. We have been twice snd neither time did she have any problems. The menu being Mexican is really mainly free of gluten so it's easy pickens for those with the old gluten allergy. Oh, the cheesecake, well it is no longer gluten-free, really sad to say. My wife had just plopped a fork full in her pie hole when I released it had a cookie crumb base and being that she has celiac disease, well we caught it on time, and she spat it out. Oh yeah, live music locals on...
