This place has a lot of potential with the location and selling something that could potentially be very diverse and tasty however much like other reviews the bagel which is what the whole place is based on was uninviting, dry and lacklustre! I opted for chosing my own filling unlike my partner who chose the salmon cream filled bagel. I had an avocado and cheese bagel which I've had at a number of cafes before and has always been my comfortable go to for a bagel filling however filling is probably not the way I'd choose to describe the bagel I had here as its contents was minimal, I had 2 slices of avocado in the whole bagel! It was packed with lettuce though... My partner found his bagel dry and chewy as if it has been left out for a while, as was mine.
Due to the bagels being very stiff and dry, I went to the counter to ask for mayonnaise and they were very happy to help however what I saw next really put me off... obviously the waiter was struggling to find a pot to place the mayo in and after a few moments I watch him grab the receipt bowl with a bunch of receipts in, empty its contents on the side and spray it with water and dollop mayo in the pot?!
Just completely made me write off wanting to eat here again, so I went to tesco and got my own ingredients and made my own avocado and cheese bagel and was much happier!
Lincoln Bagel Co, you had so much...

Bagel quality: Freshly made bagel was nice and thick. Preparation: Felt poor. Small amounts of avocado (shards really) unevenly cut tomato and large amounts of ham packed on top of smothering's of cream cheese. It was messy. Under garnished in my view and very meat heavy (not necessarily a bad thing for a meat fan). Atmosphere: Jazz/lounge music was appealing, however the comfort of the decor appeals mostly to the socialite. This is not a common venue. Service: Felt uncomfortable, not the usual service with a smile. On a very hot day, the server didn't seem to want to be your friend, they came across somewhat begrudgingly. However one says it, it just didn't feel too friendly, ya know? No smile and 'Well hi there...' or 'How's the day goin?'. Also, was not brought cutlery.
Notes: Comfortable seating. Large space. Soft music and soft bagels. Expect to make your own atmosphere here though (as the monotonous music certainly drones a bit) and be expectant, especially if your a teenager or student, to some 'clique' treatment. Especially the clique that requires £6.79 (or something like that)...

They’ve caught onto the toasting of the actual bagels to give their sandwiches a better taste and texture! Although now, they’re not serving on plates- it’s coming wrapped in foil(!) and today it was in a paper bag even though I was eating in! I’m confused- you ask if I’m eating in? Yet my tea comes in a nice mug with a small cute ceramic pot of milk… and my sandwich is just wrapped up in a bag? Surely it would be more economical to serve eating-in customers on a plate? It’s a shame, as its details like this that don’t make sense to me, nor give a good impression. It’s nice to see the past couple of times there has been more people in here. It’s a very nice location, tastefully decorated- but really? Can we please NOT serve your tasty bagel sandwiches in a paper bag unless they’re to...
