We were looking for a quick bite whilst we waited for the train & Drill didn't disappoint. The interior is cool (aircon) & traditional, with modern bench seats & tables. Outside seating is a huge metal bench seat with small tables & chairs, these are in a shaded off the main Rd court yard. We decided on two breakfast baps with OJ, egg & hash browns then mushrooms & hash brown. They arrived in minutes, fresh, hot & very tasty. Hash browns fluffy & crispy not saturated in oil. Egg was perfectly cooked. Mrs S loved the mushrooms too. Staff were extremely friendly & helpful, the cost was very reasonable & all in all a great place to eat. We'd definitely go back for food again.

Our first visit to The Drill, all the staff are polite friendly and helpful. The building is a stunning piece of architecture and it's immaculate everywhere! However the only reason and it's the most important one of why we won't return, are the acoustics. With respect we've been to thousands of gigs all over Europe but at The Drill the acoustics are very poor and you know instantly, the actions of the musicians also tell you that too. Thin, empty and trebly, at times serious feedback and echoes. But I'll leave it up to you to decide.

First time visiting this venue. Absolutely fab place to watch a band. Tucked away in a side street, the only down side was there was no parking, however there are public car parks near by. The venue is an old Drill Hall which sets a great surrounding for live music. Has a wall of fame showing some great bands & names who have previously played there. The sound & lighting were very good. Good facilities for bands, large green room with back stage toilets. Would definitely return 🎵

The concert hall certainly leaves mixed impressions. On the one hand, the architecture of the building is admirable: beautiful lines, harmony of forms and well-thought-out acoustics make it a noticeable element of the city's cultural landscape. The spacious foyer and comfortable seats contribute to a comfortable pastime, but on the other hand, the lack of sound absorption in some areas draws attention. This concert hall, located in the city center, is an interesting structure that certainly attracts the attention of both locals and tourists. The architectural style of the hall combines modern elements with classical features, which creates an atmosphere of grandeur and comfort. However, it should be noted that the acoustics in the hall leaves much to be desired - in some places the sound seems too harsh or deaf, which can disrupt the overall perception of...

Sound quality was absolutely awful for the badlands gig! Couldn't hear any vocals clearly unless no instruments were being played (ie talking between songs) as soon as the bands started up, it was just garbled. Stood watching the drummer of one of the bands doing their thing very well, but it seemed like only half the drum kit was mic'd up. I could see them hitting stuff but no sound accompanied it. Considering the headline act was a covers band, every single took me a good while to work out what it was as the sound quality was so bad Also, made sure I took cash out in advance, as I know small venues prefer cash to card charges, only to see a sign at the bar saying cash only if correct change. Really don't think I will be rushing back for another music event after discussing it with friends and hearing their experience was the same as mine...

Appaling acoustics, 2nd thing we've been to here, the first one I though the sound problems due to being an amateur dramatics performance and didn't have the full sound system ect, and the seats gave me the worst bad back. However the second one was a gig by a band we've seen before, incredibly talented and amazing performers, but tonight was horrendous, all the sound blended into one mass noise, couldn't hear the singer, I wear earplugs at gigs that are on the louder side and honestly feel bad for anyone who didn't have any in as its the only thing that made it bareable. Turned a well known popular talented band that performed in many great venues to an up and coming, mediocre band that is still learning the ropes and climbing...
