First a disclaimer: I have done lot's of escape rooms including others at Escape Lincoln including the chainsaw, magic emporium and contagion which were all fantastic. Last night I Did the cabin at Vulcan park and was not very impressed. I will outline my reasons why:

  1. firstly it is VERY VERY HARD. The hardest most difficult escape room I've ever tried. Tbh I dont really care about escaping but want to have fun and feel like we make rewarding progress ut it was all very complex, confusing and frustrating. This stopped us having much fun.
  2. It was far too dark and there was only one lamp provided so was told to use our phones which immediately ruined some of the ambience. It was so dark it really hindered progress, especially if you have difficulty with vision.
  3. no specific story or enemy (the chainsaw person made an appearance but no explanation of why we were in the cabin. Again this stopped it being immersive)
  4. loud music from the main area was blaring through the windows making it hard to hear each other and ruined the ambiance .
  5. not much clue variety- the puzzles were rediculously complex number puzzles and there was so many locks all at once it was so confusing (especially in the dark!)
  6. it was so difficult communicating through the walls with the loud music
  7. tv clues ruined the immersiveness and when we really needed a clue we were left hanging. It felt like we werent really being watched or looked after.
  8. usually we are advised of a fire exit or quick exit if needed. My brother needed a wee but couldn't get out for a long time even though we kept requesting. If someone has certain access needs this could be quite dangerous not being able to quickly leave. Conclusion: overall I would say the cabin: what lies beneath is one of the most dissapointing escape room experiences ive had. It felt rushed and not as immersive or polished as it could be. I've always loved Escape Lincoln which makes this all the more dissapointing. I would only attempt this room if you have great sight and hearing and really love cryptic and...

First ever escape game for me, and I LOVED it. I'd originally booked the In The Slammer game but, following the wise counsel of Gamesmaster Macy, we played Mystic Alley instead and I'm so very glad that we did - it was much more suitable for our party, which included 2 youngsters, and for our level of experience. The clues were varied and challenging, and we did need a few hints to point us in the right direction at times, but we managed to escape with 8 minutes to spare. The experience has left me keen to try more escape games, and it's great to know that there are many more to try at Gamesaints, including one that would challenge even the most hardened of players (In The Slammer). But for me it's the level of service and the attention to detail at Gamesaints Lincoln that has led me to leave this review. Macy was so warm and welcoming, so knowledgeable and friendly, and the decor and detail of Mystic Alley was so gorgeous, that I left there feeling rather blown away by it all, quite frankly. A big Bravo to Macy and the team at Gamesaints Lincoln, and we hope to see...

It spoilt the illusion a little bit having to walk through a part of the college to the rooms, but that's not a big deal! The room was so well decorated and detailed, it really made you feel more involved.

There was only the two of us in this room and because Escape didn't have anyone in after us, Kass let us have a bit more time so that we could actually finish it, which made it so much better to know that we got to do everything even if not in the time we were supposed to 😂

I did push open a fire door thinking it was a separate room because it had a regular door handle rather than a push down bar, so I think that could've been labelled that's all.

All in all, it was so much fun and great value for money! I look forward to...

Great experience, definitely worth a visit. 6 of us did the Prisoner Escape Room at Escape Lincoln we found it great value for money and difficult enough to keep all 6 of us engaged with the variety and complexity of the puzzles. It was just all round lots of fun. Jade was very informative before we entered the room. They then only gave hints if we were really stuck or missing the obvious. Cannot wait to try a new on!

Did the Sherlock Justice room, really good ambience given it is set in a former courtroom. Reasonable balance of lateral thinking and pure guess work in the problems to solve, but definitely requires good teamwork to solve in time. The bonus puzzle at the end took me by surprise (first timer to an escape room) but added an edge of against the clock controlled panic to get to the full hour.

Absolutely brilliant! Didn't crack the codes but had great fun trying. Staff were great.
