The worst place to eat , very unhygienic, the counter is open so we can see what the cook was doing but that didn’t stop him doing the most hygienic things, he literally threw laddles, spoons here and there, hadn’t worn any gloves, never saw him wash hands . All the used and dirty plates lied on the counter and the seating tables , we were asked to sit on the tables with the previously used plates and we had no choice cause every table was in the same condition . After sitting there for literally 15 minutes no one came to clean the tables , the cook forgot to prepare our order , I guess that was because he was the only one handling the counter the orders and the cleaning of tables , maybe the management should be blamed .my friends and I were very unhappy with the whole experience and that too without even trying the food. On a bright side so happy we didn’t spend our money in this place and fall sick.
As you all can see the reply , and since I’m unable to respond to the reply , I’m editing and responding here , what ‘high volume of customers,?????? There were 2 groups including ours which altogether is 6 people, as I mentioned the tables were empty but not cleaned the plates lied there and we had no choice but to sit on those uncleaned tables that I repeat weren’t cleaned till we left , so what do you mean , ‘while one was busy the other assisted to clean’ ? What do you mean it’s not fair that we assess the quality of your food when we didn’t eat - we didn’t eat because the cook FORGOT to make the order. And what do you mean ‘HYGIENE’ when the cook doesn’t even wear gloves , take a bad review as criticism and don’t give false reasons that don’t apply . THERE WAS NO STAFF , NO...
Read moreCame across Momos via a Liverpudlian food influencer's videos. That particular guy always orders a selection of dishes off the menu, so I was really surprised when his video only covered one dish. But we love Momos and the thought of the authentic cuisine taking us back to our travels in Nepal was too tempting. We went on Saturday evening, it had a big table of students and we were the only other table. The tables were sticky, not wiped down properly. But it reminded us of the little stalls we ate at in Nepal, so no bother at all as it was not claiming to be pretentious.
Ordered the food, then we had to move tables as between the staff turning up the music really loudly and the table of students shouting across the table to each other, it was impossible to communicate with each other. When our food was ready, I collected these from the counter and the lady on the till was really abrupt and rude, telling me off for changing tables.
The food was nice, but the tastes were all similar. The same sauce was used across 3 of the 5 dishes we got. But what really put me off was a long white hair in the little cup of onions and coriander that they serve with the pani puri - disgusting and poor hygiene. On my way out, I noticed a bowl of chopped onion and coriander is left open on the counter. Clearly the staff need some training in basic food handling and hygiene.
Overall, okay but I will certainly not be back. There are a number of other nepalese/gurkha restaurants around that I would rather attend and have courteous...
Read moreOne of the worst takeout meals I’ve ever had… Tried this place after seeing good reviews, and I was incredibly disappointed. First of all nothing was labelled, I am vegetarian and my husband isn’t so we got one veggie and one chicken momos and there was no way of telling them apart besides getting him to taste them, and even then he couldn’t tell as they were both full of bland mush!!! I tried what we THINK was the veggie one, and it was just grey flavourless paste, despite being advertised on the website as having “carrots, cabbage, onion and paneer” - I couldn’t make out a single vegetable or piece of paneer! Both sets of momos were inedible - the dough itself was hard and tasted stale, nothing like the fresh soft chewy momos I’ve had at actual Nepalese establishments. Taste like they are just bought frozen and microwaved. The “samosa chaat” had maybe one eighth of a samosa in it, the rest was again just some sort of bland mush (definitely not what I’d call a chana masala) with a spoonful of yoghurt on top, again we didn’t eat this because it tasted so bad. We also unfortunately got the tarkari gedi, which were disgusting fried balls of mush, I think they were supposed to resemble a pakora? The paste was completely raw inside. All in all every dish was one of the worst things I’ve ever had the misfortune of putting in my mouth, really disappointed as I’d heard such good things. Waste of £30, I wish we could get...
