Pablinos Bar and Grill — Restaurant in Liverpool

Can I just say I wish I would have seen the reviews on trip advisor on this place and the owner before we booked. Every bad review is spot. We booked this venue for my sisters 21st birthday party. I was told when there was on the phone to the member of staff thy we could either pay £250 for room hire or taKe out food with them. With it being a 21st we didn't really want to have food as the majority of the party would be young and drink more than eat but rather than give the money and get nothing for it we decided to cater using the £250 that would have been getting nothing for. We were given 2 options. Either order a buffet style memu which was £16.95 per head which personally I think it daylight robbery for what you got or order the canipe selection which are like little mini individual meals that the staff bring around. The member of staff also agreed that we could bring in our own cakes and sweet table. After all of this was agreed with 3 witnesses in the room while the conversation took place we put the deposit down to go ahead and book. She asked for £100 deposit to secure. She actually took £150 which I was annoyed at but as it was coming off the bill I didn't say anything. After putting the menu choice in last week we thought everything was fine.

Yesterday I received a phonecall from the own and her exact words to me where "I've been thinking, and you can't just spend £250 on food" As a venue, you can not just change your mind and your booking terms and demand more money out of people because you have "been thinking". I assured her that there would be a lot of money spent behind the bar but this was not good enough for her. She was so rude, wouldn't let me talk at all, spoke down to me like I was stupid and her attitude was disgusting. I am a very laid back person and with plenty of experience in this industry know how everything works so I don't tend to get round up easy at all. This woman should not be allowed to own a business. With her "13 year of experience" you would think she knew now to talk to people. She is common, rude, nasty and greedy and she should not be allowed to run any kind of business with the attitude she's got. Turns out we're not the only people she's been vile to. Apparently she's renowned for it in the events industry. We cancelled the event as if this is what she is like before had, what she would be like on the night.

I have been in touch with trading standards and they advised me that she has breeches a verbal contract.

I would never advise anyone to book here ever. She is like the wicked witch. We are taking our business right over the road, where they don't speak to people like you have just fell...

My friend highly recommended Pablinos. So we decided to go for a breakfast today, and was not disappointed! The food was amazing! Amanda the Manager is possibly one of the nicest people I have ever met, super friendly, chatty and had the customer service down to a T. I usually go to the Tavern but feel their standards arn't as good as they used to be so definately have found a nice little gem here. Will be going back very soon and recommend to family and friends. Pablinos hosted my sisters 70th birthday meal. The food was outstanding, nothing was too much trouble for the staff very pleasant and helpful. Highly recommend this hidden gem on Smithdown Road. The room we had our meal in was set at the back of the restaurant very good for private functions, the decors beautiful, they allowed us to bring our own singer/comedian in Tim Lucas who did an amazing job keeping us entertained. Amanda was so helpful with the preparations for our meal, very professional. Will definitely be visiting...
