First time for both of us yesterday (Easter Sunday) after many recommendations to try it out....

First impression was a "modern chinese" restaurant, all staff were dressed in smart uniforms, a great atmosphere and the restaurant was very clean which is one of the first things I look at in a restaurant.

Staff were very helpful explaining the menu which was a choice of starters, big bowls, ramen choice soups and a selection of meat choices with rice/noodles etc...

We went with 3 starters of Duck Gyoza, BBQ Ribs and Salt & Pepper Chicken wings plus a shared Main of 3 Meat with Fried Rice and a side of Fried Noodles...

BBQ Ribs were superb !! and one point I need to add is that they made the meat crispy (roasted) which made them a real pleasure to eat with a smooth sweet sauce which complimented the Ribs beautifully... Best Ribs we have had for some considerable time. Wife tried the Salt & Pepper Wings and again a nice heat which was not overpowering and very tasty and you could tell they had been prepared (cooked) freshly. Duck Gyoza was served with a Hoi Sin type sauce for dipping the Gyozas and again were very tasty.

I have to say the Ribs were my favourite and I would go back just for them...

I'm glad we only ordered one main between us as we certainly could not have eaten one each.... Big bowl of fried rice with a copious amount of Chicken/Duck & Char Sui slices which were again so tasty served with Chinese vegetable and lovely Fried Noodles which were not greasy. We struggled to finish it off but eventually we sat back satisfied !!

Staff checked on us throughout which was really nice as you could see the enthusiasm coming through which made the whole experience enjoyable...

We both washed it down with Draught Asahi which again was spot on and a really nice lager which suited the whole ethos of the meal.

Highly recommended and well worth the visit, you could see why the take out orders were flying out due to the quality but the only recommendation I would suggest is some way to stop the take away drivers walking through the restaurant to collect the meals but that was a small point in what was a perfect lunch ....

Staff brilliant and atmosphere was excellent without being too noisy ...

Excellent... we will...

Smithdown one- My partner and I order from here regularly via Uber eats and are never disappointed. It was my Birthday yesterday and I had my Mum and Dad over (77 and 78). They are not into take outs but through the week they were excited by the menu and we decided to do it via Uber Eats. To cut a long story short the food was never delivered, (they said it had been), the driver blocked me etc. I called Maggie Fu's close their closing time purely to ask them to send me a text/email to prove the driver had picked the order up. I knew this was the case as I was tracking the drivers car but had not screen shot etc. Both of the ladies I spoke to were amazing and without asking they were adamant they would deliver us some food even though they had already fulfilled the order (I was walking to our local chippy at this point!). Within 30 minutes it was with us- I can not thank them enough- my family were very happy as at this point they were really hungry and a bit disillusioned with it all. I have put a complaint into Uber and if refunded i'll pop the money into you through the week. Thank you so so much, amazing...

Liverpool offers an abundance of places to eat and drink, if you name a style of world food, or a particular food outlet, you can guarantee you’ll find it in Liverpool, we love exploring new places so decided on the last day of our five day break to sample some Asian Street food at Maggie Fu’s in Hanover Street, their menu is phenomenal, absolutely mind boggling with all you could want in classic dishes from the east, we picked out Satay Chicken, Salt & Pepper Ribs, Sweet & Sour Chicken and Special House Chow Mein, all the dishes were served up quickly and each one was superb, delicious and good sized portions, as good as any we have tasted on our South-East Asia travels, really, really wonderful and authentic, in a very nice a setting with great Asian vibe, suspect the restaurant is banging at weekends, and there is no doubt we shall return on our future short breaks...

Maggie Fu is a really cosey little restaurant, with really pleasant staff and a menu with just the right amount of variation. I got the seabass whilst my girlfriend got the 3 meat ramen bowl with curry broth. Both were nice enough, but I have to say I had a few issues with my visit: - The menu says salt and pepper chips, but they serve salt and pepper fries. There's a BIG difference between the two and in a salt n pepper loving city like this that needs to be addressed. - while the quantity of food was great the food lacked a bit of flavour, and the fish was overloaded with spice. - The mens toilet had no soap, and the hand dryer was more like someone blowing gently on your hands than actually drying them. That being said, it was nice enough to make me want to visit again, and I would recommend it.
