Got here late at night when doing a quick stop over in Liverpool. Cool place with interesting decor, friendly staff and great food. They kept the kitchen open for a few minutes to make me a burger and fries. The fries were perfectly made crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside with just the right amont of salt, the burger was fresh and well prepared, very tasty and juicy patties that well exceeded my expectation for a late night meal. Had some pints and some great conversations with staff and other patrons, really a great place to visit. Heard it is the best place for breakfast in Liverpool. Go on, spoil yourself, pop in for a great meal and a pint!!!

We called in for tea. (Great idea on his behalf) the food was excellent and it didn't break the bank! Service was brilliant (our server Jay was lovely and very helpful) It was quite busy at the time but the atmosphere was great. I recommend 100%

Everybody was so delightful, the staff were incredible! I truly would recommend this place for really good food. There seems to be a lot going on there as well so if you like an event, I’m sure there would be offerings of sorts.

This was the second time we have visited The Tavern Co recently for a birthday surprise. On our first visit, we had chosen several dishes from the menu including steaks and fajitas. It was quite busy at this time of evening with most tables occupied. After being seated, it was 15 to 20 minutes before our drinks order was taken. We were a group of 4 and it was commented on how cold it was inside. Drinks were eventually served and our food order taken. Service was slow and our food was warm at best with the exception of the sizzling platter the fajitas were served from. The outside temperature was close to freezing on this night and the restaurant is very large inside which may have provided an explanation for this. Giving the benefit of doubt, we decided to give it another go the following fortnight. Once inside, we requested a table further inside which was warmer this time. I informed the manager that this was a birthday for my partner and asked if I could purchase a cake for her after the main course. Service was slow again even for drinks and it was 25 minutes before an order was placed and a further 10-15 minutes for them to arrive at the table. Once again, we opted for steaks with peppercorn sauce. The flavours were great and overall the food was very tasty. Just not hot. I approached our table waiter and she told me that the kitchen was some distance from the restaurant. She then went to get the floor manager. We were half way through our dinner before he came over to our table. My partner who's birthday it was couldn't eat the steak that was on her plate as she could not chew it which was a shame as the other 3 steaks were great! The manager agreed that this one was an exception and it would be removed from the final bill. To be fair and give the staff full credit for this, when the cake was brought to our table, around 5 of the staff all came to the table and sang to my partner which was fantastic! The bill arrived and had to be sent back 3 times to be adjusted before I could settle it properly. I don't want this to sound like a moaning review but I think that there is room for improvement here. Let's face it, when a waiter/ess asks "how's your meal"? We all reply "it's fine thanks" and don't complain. Unless people are honest, how can an establishment improve if they don't know about problems? Overall, I really like the Tavern, the food and the staff and I certainly wouldn't put you off going there as it is a nice bar. I would just like to see some small improvements that would benefit the efficiency of the...

So I booked online on their own website for 5 people , family , for their Tuesday offer pancakes on half price all day . I got email confirmation, so me, my partner and our 3 children got there at 4 a clock . As soon as we went in we got told we have no booking . I showed them my email and both of the staff were nodded their heads “ sorry , we have no bookings today , I don’t know who sent you that email” . They were both looking confused , place was empty and they didn’t even offer us a table . I work in hospitality too , and if someone shows up showing me a confirmation of a booking that we don’t have on the system, we try to accommodate the best possible. I had to ask them if they can give us a table for 5. They gave us one in the end. They brought the menus and I said politely that we are there just for the pancakes offer. They asked which pancakes offer ? I said the one from Instagram and showed them it , which at that time was posted 8 hour prior . And their answer was that the brunch it’s over , they only serve pancakes with chocolate and they re full price and not on offer . And I asked how come on instagram post say it’s available? They said it was finished at 3, and they don’t honed that offer anymore . We had to leave with all 3 kids extremely disappointed and upset. I messaged on instagram page and the person answered me yes ! We do serve the pancakes on half price all day ! So .. make it all short , staff that don’t really care , they looked bored of their job and not trying to help at all, not even with offering us a table , even when we had a booking available to show .. and the whole situation put me off this place . Kids were so upset. And just to get the message after on instagram after I explained what happened.. that YES WE DO serve pancake half price all day .. Wow ! That’s shocking, false advertising if you keep saying you serve it , but when I get to the real location I got refused the offer , and staff don’t know...

Mood started when we walked in, the staff were not at all friendly. we waited 20 minutes to order drinks and then a further 20 mins to order food. A total of 50 minutes we spent waiting for our food and drink. One of out guests is type one diabetic there for was having a hypo while we were waiting for food (we stressed this at the end of our visit and they brushed it off like it wasn't the serious thing that it is!) once the starters came 2 (onion rings and spring rolls) were cold and 1 (cauliflower wings) were hard and dry. We complained about the starters being cold and got a cold response back offering no help or solutions to the quality of food we had been given. We were then given our mains to find out the burgers were well done (menu stated that they would be cooked medium) and one was totally the wrong garnish, we asked for the garnish that was supposed to compliment the "black and blue" burger to be told they were fetching some blue cheese, 20 minutes after (having reminded the useless staff) we were given a pot of blue cheese dip. The manager was the only person working on the floor that was some what attentive so we asked to speak to him. Upon him coming over to the table we were told there was nothing wrong with the mains we had ordered and that there was nothing he could do, so rightly we refused to pay for any of the food as we were that unhappy, only for the manger to stand and roll his eyes at us and eventually bring a bill over that only contained the drinks. Not one good thing to say, very disappointed as we had heard good thing. All guests ordered different meals and all of them were disappointing. Do not recommend at all. Also 2019 March was the last food hygiene inspection was the last...
