Smokies — Restaurant in Liverpool

Great venue - staff obviously stressed on a busy Saturday afternoon (who’d have guessed).

Ginger bar man telling me to calm down because I had the audacity to be frustrated (after waiting 10 mins) and after he then had served two groups (women) who had come to the bar way after us, before serving us. Me and my friend were stood in front of him and are over 6ft tall and 18 stone (so we aren’t easy to miss). Despite feeling wronged, I again became quiet and waited, only for him to come back and add that we would be barred if it carried on (what standing quietly?)

Being barred actually would have been a blow given there is only 100 other bars within a 10 minute walk... but I forgave him, he was clearly stressed.

Owners, perhaps offer training or more staff?

Went in there yesterday with a group of 10 from work. Had a large order were a lad was serving me efficiently. He then left midway and handed it to a girl with long black hair. Her attitude towards me was disgusting to say the least. She was rolling her eyes when I was asking for the drinks. I said to her that her attitude was bad and she said no it wasn't . The lad then came up not knowing what was happening and defended her. The service was awful. Needless to say we finished our drinks and left. We will not be returning and I'd urge anyone to think again before going in there until they train the staff properly on...

Went in with 3 elderly relatives. As soon as I walked into the bar an aggressive bar women approached me and said ‘I can’t serve you without an ID’ in a very rude tone. I was only actually having a soft drink but as a nearly 30 year old I found it very questionable that she thought I was under 18. Even after explaining I don’t drink and do have multiple photos of my ID she again kept her rude brisk tone. As a support worker I have brought residents into the bar multiple times for the past 10 years and never had any issue. I felt the women was looking forward to declining service which felt very patronising and...
