Been trying to ring all day for the past few hours to ask the beauty department a simple question. No answer after ringing countless times.
Decided to ring a different department in the hope that someone would help me. I dialled the pharmacy department a few minutes ago. The girl was rude and immediately said before i had finished speaking that she couldnt help me and just didnt sound like she did not want to even listen to a word i said.
When the simplicity for the reason of my call finally sunk in, she said it was "unethical for her to ask a colleague for me". No help, nothing. Not, "do you mind holding a bit longer and when a colleague comes by i can ask them for you as i cant leave my stall". There was nothing just like talking to a brick wall. I said "okay ill just ring that number again for the beauty department and stand there all day. She replied "okay". Literally if i was this girls manager id discipline her or even better fire her.
In my opinion i found this seriously unhelpful and unprofessional seeming that i had explained it had given me a headache trying to get through to the store in the first place and when i finally get through to someone they are not able to help me in the slightest way or even attempt to shine some light after i hsd throughly explained twice.
P.s
She also at one point said "i dont know anything about any hair straighteners". Well then you shouldnt be working at boots then if you dont know a thing about haur straighteners.
Pathetic customer service. Ill try...
Read moreI ordered Strepsils Extra Triple Action Blackcurrant Lozenges (2 packs, £15.60) from this store via Just Eat on July 27, 2025 (Order #638733058), as I’m suffering from a terrible sore throat causing me pain even when I sneeze or cough. Since it’s a medication, I had to provide my name and date of birth for the store to verify when the rider gets to me to deliver my order. The delivery was promised by 14:45, but the time kept shifting to 15:00, then 15:05. In severe pain and unable to wait, I contacted Just Eat customer service to cancel the order and get a refund to buy Strepsils in-store. I was shocked to learn the store had started preparing my order, and cancellation wasn’t allowed, meaning I’d lose the full £17.31 (including a £1.71 service fee) because they’d keep 100% of the service fee. This feels unfair. If I walked into the store, bought the same item, and realized I had it at home and provided the cashier with a receipt and the drug purchased for a return and refund, would they take my money, the receipt, and the product and send me away? That’s essentially what happened online. The customer service assistant agreed this wasn’t ideal, yet I was left with no relief and out of pocket. Extremely disappointed with the inflexibility and poor communication about...

Today, I went to boots. There's something wrong with the the system, so I can't link the card to the account. Then I politely asked an employee, "I know the card number, may I have your help?"
The colleague (a white woman with long blonde/brown hair) said coldly, "It's too complicated. I can't do it." I thought they weren't allowed to do that for customers, and although I was also a little upset with her attitude, I left.
I then went to boots next door and explained the same thing to an employee and said that if I couldn't, it was okay because I really needed the pill. And then the staff over there just manually type... I was shocked.
I went back to the store manager, who was also a white lady. I ask if manual input is possible? Why was I rejected by your staff?
When I said it, I couldn't stop crying. There was nothing I could do about my tearful incontinence...
"You are yelling at me, I can't stand it," the store manager said, asking the security guard to let me leave immediately, and the other white female employees nearby laughed...
But I didn't yell, I just cried because I was so upset.
I don't know why I'm being treated like this... .. But I know that even discrimination...
