89 Social — Restaurant in London

I had a superb margarita here last night, so nice it reminded me that I’ve been meaning to write a review. I love that we have lots of little independent places like this locally, and this is my favourite of the lot.

The good:

Excellent selection of wines (and yeah, we’re also hooked on the Pet Nat).

Good atmosphere - nicely relaxed but still lively

Lovely staff who work really hard.

Top notch negronis, always with a blood orange when they’re in season.

The food - the crostinis, the arancini, the pasta, all great. There's often some excellent cheese on offer as well.

And if you’re lucky there will be warm mini doughnuts.

The bad:

Um, nothing.

The master of the house/sommelier Lorenzo adds character to the wining experience with perfect recommendations to suit your taste buds, weather and mood - just what you want from a glass of wine. This place is an absolute gem! The charcuterie and cheese board are top-notch, with high-quality cured meats, artisanal cheeses, and the perfect little extras to pair with their excellent wine selection. Whether you're just after a few nibbles or fancy going all in with a tasting menu (which includes some incredible pasta dishes), you really can’t go wrong. The cosy atmosphere makes it a lovely spot to unwind, and the friendly service makes you feel right at home :). Plus, for the quality you’re getting, the prices are very reasonable.
