1st time of trying Aahar and we got a takeaway for a birthday meal at home. I had high hopes but unfortunately I have to say it wasn't the best experience. Saturday evening, rang up and was asked to hold and then had the call ended! Rang again and I'm pleased to say I received an apology when I told them what had just happened. I asked for all dishes to be mild (it's our first time so we don't know how hot the dishes are) and was assured that all dishes are mild. We orderd:- Mattar Paneer, this was very oily and it was VERY HOT! You could see copious amount of fresh green chilli, so the very opposite of mild! Chana Masala, this was well cooked and was the correct level of mild. The chick peas were soft and nicely flavoured. Malai Kofta, this was another nice dish and the correct level of mild, it only had 2 kofta which we felt was a bit on the low side, but they were nice. Bhindi (okra) another disappointing dish as the bhindi were chopped up quite small, the dish was very oily and had far too much fresh green chilli in it. The chapatis were as expected, the chilli and coriander naan was nice as well, both freshly made. So, the Matter Paneer was was so hot that it was inedible due to the chilli and the bhindi was just about edible, but just too oily and a bit too hot to enjoy. Overall, a disappointing experience with the food. The service was warm & friendly and when we went to collect the order the restaurant was very busy and lively. Sad to say we won't be returning and half the meal was money wasted as we couldn't eat it.

We were on the lookout for a pure veg restaurant and though this was a bit far away for us looked to be a decent one. Visited with family and due to the long drive, were quite hungry when we got there. We ordered papads with chutneys, mango and salted lassi straight away which were refreshing. Then came what my son termed as the best Paneer tikka he'd ever had. The paneer was nicely marinated to give the slightly tangy taste, nicely cooked and tender on the inside accompanied by grilled onions and peppers. An Indian restaurant offering both North & South Indian food in the UK is a rarity and Aahar served Dosas for my daughter while the rest of us chose the Indian breads and curries. The paneer dosa was huge and my daughter was unequal to the task and chose to pack half of it to eat for dinner. The onion kulcha and butter naan were nicely prepared and fully cooked (not uncommon for these breads to be thick and have an inner layer that isn't fully done). The paneer curry was creamy and delicious. The kids still wanted to have dessert and chose a chocolatey ice cream with a Ferrero Rocher topping which they loved. Good service throughout and friendly staff made sure that our request for non-spicy food was carried out. We were lucky to have had good weather and headed to Windsor Great Park for a long walk to work some of the food.

My experience was appalling!! Firstly I ordered uttapam and clearly said to the waiter to Not add chillies but as soon as it arrived they still put chillies! And when we complained they did nothing about it SERVICE IS 0, we complained to the manger there at the time and he go really angry with one of my family member when they were going to toilet because we complained about the chilli, he asked "why are you standing here" when there clearly was a line for the toilet. Secondly the daal was way too salty and dosa wasn't that great. Noodles were way too oily enough to give me cholesterol. I ordered passion fruit juice that was salty too but I think it's naturally salty due to seeds. Pani puris were average not too bad not too good I don't think I'm ever gonna come back here again and I'm glad!! I also noticed the pictures of the seats on Google image is different to one in restaurant they should update there picture because the design looks junky, lousy and cheap. Really sorry for using those words but this is all based on my experience and how the servers treated me.

I recently visited Aahar Southall for the first time and would like to share my experience. The ambience felt rather uninspired, more like a large, undecorated hall than a welcoming dining space. I initially requested a cheese masala dosa, but was informed it wasn’t available. I accepted a regular masala dosa and a cup of coffee instead. A few minutes later, a server returned to say they could add cheese for an additional 50p. While I appreciated the flexibility, it seemed unusual to seek explicit approval for such a minor charge. During my wait, I noticed two nearby tables that had been left uncleared for over ten minutes, despite the restaurant not being bustling. When my meal arrived, the dosa was served without the expected coconut chutney, replaced instead by a ginger taste alternative. The sambar portion was adequate, but the other condiments were served in very small quantities and ran out before I finished my meal. I waited for the staff to notice, but eventually had to request a top-up myself. Unfortunately, the server spilt some of the condiment on the table and did not clean it up. While the dosa and coffee were satisfactory, the condiments, aside from the sambar, lacked both texture and flavour. Overall, the service felt inattentive, and the staff could benefit from being more engaged and welcoming. A simple smile and proactive service go a long way in creating a positive dining experience. Regrettably, this visit did not meet expectations, and I do not...
