Oh dear where do I start. Trying to make this review fair and to the point.
Came with the wife and two children. Upon entering I asked the waitress if this was the same Roshni restaurant which was based a street or two away a long time ago (making small talk). She began to tell me about peri peri chicken. Clearly she didn't understand me so I tried again but gave up, clearly wasnt listening properly or English not great. Ok no worries.
Ordered one large somasa (half was warm half fridge cold so we cancelled it). Butter chicken, seikh kebabs, garlic naan, Pina colada, Oreo milk shake, chicken tika.
The food overall here was underwhelming - we usually go to Gifto which is expensive but quality. Pakistani kebabs are usually the best but these were more Indian/bangleshi style. Pina colada ok, Oreo milkshake was smooth runny and not thick with texture like it should be. Chicken tika ok but nothing impressive and same with Falooda which we wanted to cancel as we were put off at the end but couldn't so we took it. Most of the meal we packed to take away as we were not enjoying it.
Service overall was poor. I had to ask for my water jug again as they forgot to bring it. Had to also remind them to bring my take away food 5 after paying for the meal.
I try to be fair and balanced in my reviews and you can see I write mostly favourable reviews so it's sad for me to have to leave this slightly long and negative review. I wish them well, but they need to make changes to the service and food quality. We won't be returning. Two stars...
Read moreI visited Roshni Restaurant in Southall today and ordered Haleem with naan. Unfortunately, it was very disappointing. The Haleem was extremely oily and watery instead of being thick, rich, and meaty as it should be.
When I raised my concern and asked to speak to the manager, the staff member simply went to the chef. I could hear the chef saying, “This is the way we cook”—with no apology or attempt to understand my complaint. The staff member came back, ignored my request to see the manager, and just cleared the table.
At the counter, I mentioned the issue again while paying. The lady (who seemed to be the owner or related to the owner) admitted that Haleem should be thick and meaty, not oily or watery, but still didn’t take any action. She didn’t check my leftover food, didn’t offer to replace it, and didn’t adjust the bill. She just agreed with me and left it at that.
For me, this shows a lack of respect for customers and poor service. I expected at least some action—either replacing the dish or acknowledging the complaint properly. Instead, I was ignored.
I will not be ordering Haleem here again and will not be returning. This review is just to warn others: if you go, make sure to check your food first, especially if you...
Read moreRoshni Restaurant in Southall, London is the ultimate destination for the foodies - the gourmet’s paradise .Last week, I along with my family and friends visited Roshni for dinner. The waiters welcomed us with a warm friendly smile and escorted us to a corner table. Having settled in the cosy environment we placed our orders. While we were waiting for our order we were served with a variety of juices. After a ten-minute-wait came a huge starter - a platter comprising Malai chicken Tikka, Seekh Kababs (both chicken and lamb), Reshmi Kababs, Lamb and chicken Tikka, Lamb chops and a variety of Naans including PeshawariNaan, GarlicChilly Naan, Roghani Naan with sesame seeds topping, spicy rice, Pilou , and fresh cut seasoned chips. Every item was so very very uniquely tasty. Then came the main course - the Roshni special Charsi lamb, the most delicious dish we had ever eaten. As dessert, the Roshni kheer was at its yummiest. Based on our personal experience, we strongly recommend Roshni for any one who loves the Mughlai food. It was very good value for money. The portions were very large. Not to mention how friendly everyone was also. I will be back very soon as I have family from...
