What an absolute little gem of a restaurant Acacus is. Libyan cuisine is somewhat of a rarity in London. Perhaps the unsung hero of the North African dishes, Libyan food packs a bigger punch in terms of spice, and Acacus was no exception. I went for a late lunch with a Libyan friend. I ordered the rushti, one of the most well known dishes from Libya. Service was prompt, waiter was very helpful and the inside of the restaurant was beautiful (very traditional music and plates/art etc). The food was fantastic. The rushti was cooked to perfection, the lamb was extremely tender, and the chilli served on top was a nice traditional touch. As a suggestion, perhaps ask customers if the sauce to accompany the lamb is wanted in a spicy or mild form (it wasn't bland, but I do like spice, perhaps more cayenne pepper). We were given on the house tea (no Baklawa, unfortunately) and the manager was very polite. Would highly recommend this place, my friend even used statements like "as good as my mother's", the highest form of a compliment. Will be visiting again soon, where I hope to get some of that...

The overall vibe of the restaurant was warm and inviting, and the ambiance definitely added to the experience. The food was okay—not bad by any means, but nothing particularly memorable either. If you’re expecting standout flavours or something that sets it apart, you might leave a bit underwhelmed.

Service was a mixed bag. Our waiter, Ahmed, was excellent—attentive, friendly, and clearly trying his best to make us feel welcome. Unfortunately, that effort wasn’t matched by the rest of the team. The table runner was rude and sloppy, which left a bit of a sour impression. Also, water wasn’t served until quite late, which felt especially inconsiderate given that it was Ramadan and people were breaking their fast.

All in all, decent place with good potential, but the experience could definitely be improved with more consistent service and...

Authentic Flavors and Perfectly Grilled Dishes! From the moment you walk in, you're welcomed with warmth and the comforting aroma of home-cooked food. The grilled dishes are the stars here—juicy, smoky, and cooked to perfection. Whether it's lamb chops, grilled chicken, or kofta, each bite is full of flavor and clearly made with care. The homemade dishes are equally impressive. You can tell they're made from scratch, just like a traditional family meal. The Reshda, Embakbaka, and couscous are beautifully spiced and full of depth. Even the sides—like rice, fresh salad, and warm flatbreads—are done right. The portions are generous, the presentation is lovely, and everything tastes authentic. If you appreciate real food made with heart, this place delivers. Highly recommend for anyone who loves grill cuisine and homemade comfort dishes.

3 people in my group of 5 got incredibly sick from the Libyan Soup. I didn’t order the soup, the other girl got Lentil Soup and we were both fine but the other 3 all had awful, identical symptoms. My brother had to miss his first day of work so he could spend the day vomiting and was unable to eat a thing. I‘m so disappointed and horrified because we went so out of our way to go to this place to try amazing Libyan food. In 2020 London, I should not have to worry about getting acute stomach virus from a bowl of soup. Also it took them 15 minutes to brew a pot of mint tea even though there wasn’t anyone else in the restaurant and left the door open when it was freezing outside. My friends are going to have a terrible regard for Libya and this restaurant because of this incident and frankly, so will I.

Lovely relaxing atmosphere we went early so we were the only ones there. The food is amazing there is two women who cook a morrocan lady and Tunisian they cook the Libyan food really well. Reminded me of home. I believe the menu changes and they have an ipad with pictures if your not sure what to choose. The staff are friendly and chatty and give you time alone which I found to be a lovely balance. The decor is lovely with pictures of Libya. I wish they had more sweets like maghrood. Or other things I remember as a child such as sahleb etc. Definitely recommending this to friends and I will be coming back a lot. I added a pic of the menu as I haven't seen any pics of the menu anywhere.
