Our recent visit to Yemen Restaurant for iftar (Arafa Day) after a long day of fasting was incredibly disheartening, to say the least. Despite arriving early and placing our order promptly, we endured an agonizing wait of over an hour and a half for our food. To make matters worse, we watched as numerous tables who arrived and ordered after us received their meals.
We repeatedly tried to get the attention of the staff, informing them of our extended wait and the fact that others were being served before us. Each time, our concerns were met with a complete lack of urgency and zero customer care. The staff seemed entirely indifferent to our predicament.
Ultimately, famished and frustrated, we had no choice but to leave without eating. We voiced our extreme dissatisfaction to the manager, hoping for some understanding or apology, but his response was as apathetic as the rest of his team's. In a truly shocking display of their disregard, the moment we stood up from our table, a waiter immediately began preparing it for new customers, seemingly unconcerned about our negative experience.
It was clear we weren't alone in our frustration; we observed many other customers leaving with similar expressions of disappointment, having faced the same unacceptable delays and lack of service.
In summary, our experience at Yemen Restaurant was marred by terrible service, non-existent customer care, and a truly horrible staff. We cannot recommend this establishment, especially for those seeking a timely and...
Read moreIf you’re looking for authentic and flavorful Yemeni food, this place is an absolute must-visit! I came here with some friends and we were all blown away by how delicious everything was. The Mandi in particular is out of this world – perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and the portion sizes are generous. Honestly, it’s the best Mandi I’ve had anywhere.
The restaurant has a really nice atmosphere – warm, welcoming, and clean. There are two spacious floors, and I really liked how they’ve set up private family rooms, which makes it perfect for both casual meals and more private gatherings. It feels very comfortable whether you’re coming with friends or with family.
The staff are super friendly and respectful, and the service was fast and professional. They really make you feel at home and are happy to explain the dishes if you’re unfamiliar with Yemeni cuisine. They also have a good variety of other traditional dishes like Haneeth, Saltah, and Fahsa, all cooked just right. The bread was fresh and hot, and everything was served beautifully.
Honestly, I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone. Whether you’re trying Yemeni food for the first time or you’ve grown up eating it, this place delivers a truly satisfying and memorable experience. I will definitely be coming back...
Read moreVery Disappointing and Not Authentic I visited Al Yemen restaurant yesterday with my family, hoping to enjoy some authentic Yemeni cuisine. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. Despite the restaurant's name, the food had no resemblance to the traditional Yemeni flavors we were expecting. Everything we ordered was bland and lacked the rich taste and spices that are usually a hallmark of Yemeni cooking.
The portion sizes were shockingly small, more like children's portions, especially considering the prices on the menu. We ordered a meat dish, and what we got was mostly fat and bones with very little actual meat. It felt like poor value for money and left us all unsatisfied.
This was our first time visiting, and it will definitely be the last. I noticed the restaurant has quite a few positive reviews, but based on our experience, it’s hard to believe they’re genuine. It seems more likely those reviews came from friends or family. Overall, it was a big letdown and not a place I would recommend to anyone looking for a true taste of...
