Allegros — Restaurant in London

Went here a few weeks ago while visiting family and will certainly visit again.

First impressions were a clean and well-organised place, not too big and not too small. The gentleman who greeted us was warm and friendly and made us feel very welcome while he showed us to a nice window table.

The menu had plenty of Italian classics as well as some more interesting choices. I ended up with the carbonara while my girlfriend opted for a pork stew.

Meals arrived with reasonable speed and we were well attended with regards to drinks and appetisers. The food itself was first rate, certainly better quality than you'd expect for the price. The pork stew was rich and tasty with perfectly tender pork and a side of excellent chips. The carbonara was perfect too.

Overall, great service, great food and somewhere I look forward to visiting again. I recommend this place...

We have visited this restaurant multiple times whenever we come to Surbiton to see our family, as the food is consistently delicious.

However, our latest visit was less welcoming. We had a light lunch at home, so we decided to share just one starter and a main.

When the owner brought our tap water, he expressed disapproval, highlighting that he did not appreciate us splitting one main course because he doesn’t charge service fee. While setting down the glasses, he repeated, “ this is table service” , creating an awkward atmosphere. We would have gladly ordered more food or pay a service fee is such a policy has been explained earlier, but instead, we felt chastised for something we did not realize was an issue.

A compete 5* restaurant! Me and my partner stumbled across this place for our anniversary and they were sooo welcoming, kind and friendly, the food was incredible and my partner who’s autistic has trouble with the texture of foods and didn’t realise one dish came with a sauce and when it came out they were soo good and replaced it instantly. The food was soo good and the chicken was succulent and so full of flavour which is rare to come across a chicken so well cooked, they replaced the drink I dropped and were so lovely the whole evening!
