I had a green tea, then returned for a bottle of water. Thereâs not much rating one can give a plain green tea and still water but I give them 5 stars nonetheless because I really want the lady who served me, Palak, to be given the credit I feel she deserves.
To start, when I ordered my green tea, Palak served it within two cups (one cup inside the other) without even asking. Why did this deserve 5 stars? Because, I had been to the cafe twice in previous weeks and was served by other members of staff. Both times, I asked for a sleeve since the tea was scalding hot to hold and was told they didnât have them. It didnât occur to either member of staff to offer what Palak did without being asked. I can only assume othersâ have been in the same situation as I was and Palak clearly took heed of the trend, and more importantly, took the initiative to make my experience as stress and pain-free as possible. So, I already liked Palak because of that transaction...
But THEN, I visited the cafe a couple of hours later for a bottle of water. Why 5 stars? Because Palak asked, âWould you like a bottle at room temperature, or a cold one from the fridge?â I imagine the cafe has seen quite a few dental cases and assume Palak used that experience to ensure her customers really felt acknowledged, understood and valued. As Palak should be.
Having the type of insight Palak obviously has is something management should most certainly look out for in any future employees but, to use that insight as subtly yet beautifully as Palak did is a true sign of leadership.
These two seemingly small gestures tell a lot about work ethic, passion, drive and competence. Palak showed a high standard in all.
Palak, thank you for making my tasteless water and green...
Read moreI am an employee of St Thomas hospital and today at 15:50 on 16/04/20 I went to the AMT cafeteria located in St Thomas and I would like to leave only one review star because both the person who made the cafe and the person who attended at the cashier were rude in the way they acted, he was making the coffee and went to the cashier afeter and the lady who started making the coffee came with a mask, gloves which I didn't see if it was changed or not. I asked for a Mayan coffee and this coffee came without cream, after the coffee had been made I politely asked if this coffee would come with cream, she was extremely tough, she told me that you should have asked me before. I was thinking, the sign said that this cafe would come with cream, Why I have to ask before, shouldn't she ask me about it if I would like this with the cream or not, in short, I think that these people are unprepared to work, especially in this time when we should practice solidarity...
