Anchor Cafe — Restaurant in London

First, some context. This is a ‘local’ old school cafe, honest and unpretentious - and providing excellent value. On my travel checklist for London was an English breakfast with black pudding, which is what I ordered. I got exactly that: perfectly cooked bacon, egg, mushrooms and black pudding. No bells and whistles and just perfect. Coffee (black or milky) was better than any I’ve tasted since arriving in London.

Only regret is I hadn’t discovered this place earlier in my stay in London - a missed opportunity to work through the many delightful sounding, traditional British offerings...

It's a good cafe with straight forward freshly cooked food. You can see the food being cooked at the back of the counter. Cafe can get busy at times so you might not get a seat/table, though you could share a table with other customers if they are okay with this. Cafe is used a lot by council worker and workmen/women. Original owner Sherry sold the business, she started/opened the care around 1986 and used to park her blue Toyota sports car outside of the cafe. Worth more than a three but less than four ( can't be arsed with the maths). Quick efficient service and the place seems to have it's regulars. Main issue is as I was eating I didn't get the feeling that I was getting any fuller, don't particularly fill much fuller now. Wouldnt go back as seems little point. Doesn't get...
