My recent visit to the Beans & Beyond restaurant on Marathon Day was an absolute disaster, and I am deeply disappointed by the abysmal customer service and overall experience we encountered. From the moment we walked in, it was clear that the staff had little regard for providing even the most basic level of hospitality.
Upon entering the restaurant, we were greeted by an eerie silence. There was no one to welcome us or guide us to a table, forcing us to approach a staff member and ask where we could sit. To our dismay, we discovered that our chosen table was dirty and had not been cleaned after the previous guests. We had to take matters into our own hands and clean the table ourselves, which was highly unprofessional and off-putting.
After settling down, we patiently waited for a server to come and take our order. However, as time passed, it became evident that no one was interested in attending to our table. Frustrated, we decided to approach the tills, where we were instructed to wait for someone to come to us. The lack of attentiveness and disregard for customers' needs was disheartening, to say the least.
When the server finally arrived, she displayed a shocking level of incompetence. Despite repeating our order multiple times, she failed to listen attentively, resulting in a series of errors. Not only did our orders arrive separately and at different temperatures, but they were also completely incorrect. My mother specifically requested no beans, yet her plate arrived with a generous serving of beans. Instead of rectifying the mistake, the server aggressively scraped the beans off the plate, displaying a complete lack of professionalism and respect.
To make matters worse, when my mother's missing eggs were finally brought out, it became apparent that they were taken from someone else's plate. This mix-up further highlighted the disorganisation and chaos in the kitchen, leaving us utterly disgusted with the overall experience so much so that we actually decided to leave!
In conclusion, my visit to Beans & Beyond on Marathon Day was an absolute nightmare. The lack of customer service, the dirty table, the incorrect and poorly prepared food, and the server's incompetence all contributed to an appalling dining experience. I strongly advise against visiting this restaurant if you value even the most basic standards of quality and professionalism.
I would like to add we were quite excited to try this Cafe and potentially make it our new little spot to dine at especially as there were so many reviews and we are local however it was a huge...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of indulging in a traditional Full English Breakfast, and I must say, it was an absolute feast for the senses. This iconic morning meal, synonymous with hearty sustenance and culinary satisfaction, left me thoroughly impressed and yearning for more.
First and foremost, the Full English Breakfast is a plate brimming with variety. It offers a symphony of flavors, textures, and aromas that work in perfect harmony to create a truly satisfying experience. Every component plays a vital role in this ensemble, ensuring that no taste bud is left untouched.
Let's start with the star of the show: the generous portion of perfectly cooked bacon. Crispy, yet tender, it adds a salty and smoky dimension that is simply irresistible. The savory sausage, with its juicy interior and robust seasonings, complements the bacon flawlessly, leaving a tantalizing taste on the palate.
The inclusion of eggs is essential in this breakfast ensemble, and they are often prepared to your liking. Whether you prefer them fried, poached, or scrambled, the velvety yolk or fluffy texture enhances the overall richness of the meal. Paired with a slice of toasted bread, it's a match made in breakfast heaven.
The accompaniments are equally noteworthy. A generous portion of baked beans adds a comforting touch of sweetness and creaminess, providing a delightful contrast to the savory components. Sautéed mushrooms offer an earthy and savory bite, while grilled tomatoes contribute a burst of juicy freshness to balance the richness of the other ingredients.
Let's not forget the quintessential black pudding, a traditional delicacy that adds a unique element to the Full English Breakfast. Its distinctive blend of flavors and robust texture bring a hint of indulgence to the plate, making it a true standout in this ensemble.
To top it all off, a steaming cup of freshly brewed tea or a glass of refreshing orange juice is the perfect complement to this hearty feast, leaving you feeling invigorated and ready to take on the day.
In conclusion, a Full English Breakfast is a glorious gastronomic experience that truly delights the senses. Its harmonious blend of flavors, from the crispy bacon to the savory sausages, and the comforting beans to the zesty grilled tomatoes, offers a breakfast journey like no other. Whether you enjoy it as a leisurely weekend treat or a well-deserved morning indulgence, this classic English fare is a definite must-try for all breakfast...
Read moreNot usually one to leave bad reviews but was so disappointed today that I feel I have to. When we arrived, we sat for nearly 20 mins without having our order taken, so I went to the counter to order only to be told to wait at the table and they'd come to take our order there. Went back to the table and after another 5 mins was about to leave when the waiter finally arrived. He took our orders and while we waited for the food to arrive, there was carnage going on. Almost nobody in the cafe had their food, there were two girls by the door that it appeared had had their order brought out wrong three or four times already and were complaining to the manager, they had run out of plates and cutlery because nobody was doing the dishes, so you'd see food brought to the table then the waiter run out the back to wash them a knife and fork to eat with. Realising they had nothing to serve on I the saw a waiter decide to go and wash up for a bit, then come to take an order, then washing up a bit more, the bell would ring to let them know food is ready and then sometimes they'd come to collect it, sometimes they wouldn't. Didn't seem like they knew what table had ordered what and multiple times we had meals brought to us meant for other tables. Eventually after maybe 45 mins my breakfast was ready, unfortunately they left it on the counter for about 10 mins before someone finally brought it over, cold almost. Eventually my partner's food came out, the poached eggs were uncooked and inedible, and the green tea she ordered was not a green tea but by this point we just wanted to eat and go. In the end we ate what we could and when it came time to pay I explained that I wasn't happy and wouldn't pay for the eggs or the tea but that I'd pay for the rest. The waiter apologised and gave us 25% off the order, explaining they have a new chef but that doesn't excuse everything else, it wasn't just the chefs that let them down today. Was a total shambles and a really disappointing experience given that I had been here once before and previously found it relatively good value and a...
