Ates Mangal Meze Bar — Restaurant in London

WORST RESTAURANT EXPERIENCE EVER.. Had not got our reservation online. Not until I rang that they made our booking. When we got there we made our orders but then left out of two meals out of six. Picking away at other people’s food eventually asked where are food was that they started to cook it. When it arrived it was under cooked.. Then asked for the bill the service charge was still on there even thought they had screwed up. Bill was £240 for 6 of us some of us drinking others not. Then realised that one of the meals that they hadn’t delivered was still on the bill. There were also no dips yogurt etc just meat and a tiny bit of salad l. All the way through this we had a guitar screeching through our earholes. Would have been a more sophisticated experience if we sat in a car park with a four pack and a kebab of our choice. Food quality was OK but I was shocked by the portion size. I ordered a £16 mix shish and I was served a big plate of vegetable, salad, chips and 6 of the smallest pieces of meat: 3 cube pieces each of chicken and lamb. I have never before been served such a small meat portion at a Turkish place. In all other places I would either be struggling to finish or get the food packed however here it felt more like starters. I actually came home and cooked another meal for myself. Also on giving thr feedback I was told by the waitress that she has given thr same feedback to the restaurant but they don't listen. Surely it's a sin if your customer is hungry for another meal straight after and I am an avg lean guy. Never going back again. My mistake to convince my wife to try this over Our Kitchen which...

Ates Mangal is an absolute gem of a place, I’m so glad we found it! Went with my dad for a last minute meal and the welcome we got was so warm and friendly. The best service I’ve ever had at a restaurant, it’s so lovely to see people who genuinely love their jobs. And the food was outstanding - the garlic mushroom starter and chicken shish were particular favourites, we could’ve licked the plates clean! We’re already looking forward to...
