I had one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had in a restaurant/bar. The place was extremely busy, with only three waitresses working, and one of them refused to take orders. Drinks were being ordered but never arriving, and many customers were already complaining. When I went to the bar to ask for a drink, I was told I could only order through a waitress. I even tried to politely give some advice to the staff and the manager on how to handle the situation better, but instead of listening, the waitress snapped back with, “Do you work here? If not, mind your business.” That was rude and completely unprofessional. Things got worse when the manager called security, who forced me out without letting me collect my jacket, bag, wallet, or keys. It was cold outside and I was left standing without my belongings until my friends managed to pass them to me through a window. I was honestly close to calling the police. The security staff were just as rude from the start. They let me in without explaining the entry rules, and later refused re-entry after I stepped out for a cigarette, claiming I needed a bracelet they had never mentioned. I’ve worked in hospitality for over 10 years, and I know how stressful busy nights can be — but I also know how guests should be treated. This was not just bad service; it was disrespectful, unsafe, and completely unacceptable. Truly disappointing, and I would not recommend this...
Read moreA new Brazilian restaurant just popped up in South Croydon, looking vibrant and lively so I decided to go and check out the food. It has the usual suspects like feijoada, steaks, croquettes etc. Since I have already tried croquettes, feijoada at other places, I ordered the coração acebolado (stir fried chicken hearts) with some rice and feijao carioca (beans). When, the food arrived, I thought I saw a huge bowl of butter beans which turns out to be the chickens hearts. It's not that I didn't know they were chicken hearts but I did not expect that much in a starter! The amount of chicken hearts in there could have been a whole battery of chickens. Visually you could could see like 30 and there are more beneath so imagine how many chickens for this dish as obviously you only get one heart per chicken. Anyway, although these were probably frozen hearts, they actually tasted quite nice, it was sort of metallic with a chew. I liked the way it was not overly seasoned so you can appreciate how they taste. The sides were good for complimenting and I like the way you are given the sauces etc like the mayo, ketchup avocado etc. Overall, I was really impressed with this visit and will probably go back for the salt cod stew. The waitress was really helpful especially on the food because most staff just read from the menu when you ask what...
Read moreIf I could give no stars I would. This place is awful. I came out with my boyfriends family to this place just for a little drink and then we where going to leave. I ordered a sex on the beach which I had 2 sips out of. I noticed something in my drink so I looked and it was an ANT, which is vile. I don’t speak Portuguese so my boyfriend went to the waitress to tell her and she took the drink. I went to the bar as I wanted a new drink and I wanted my money back. The bar tender was making my drink and that’s when the waitress comes over and she looks really smug. I asked her if she spoke English because I thought this was absolutely disgusting and she said no whilst laughing. Everyone I was with thought this was wrong and they were all complaining to the waitresses, the waitress said that THIS IS NORMAL??????? I don’t know in what world having an ant in my drink is normal. I was getting very angry and at this point I was collecting my things to leave VANESSA and JESSICA are really rude waitresses they kept giving me dirty looks and turning their nose up at me. I don’t recommend going to this place unless you don’t mind fighting at the end of your time there.
PS, Gabriel who is the bar tender is so polite and...
