Disappointing Service Experience

I recently visited che men with my partner and our 2-year-old, excited to enjoy a nice meal together. Unfortunately, our experience left us quite disappointed due to the service we received.

Upon arrival, we had to go to the kitchen area to seek out a staff member to serve us. Once they gave us a menu and we have decided on what to order my partner then had to walk towards the kitchen area to get their attention so we can place an order. This initial inconvenience set the tone for the rest of our visit. What truly took us aback was the response we received from our server. When we mentioned our need for assistance, they abruptly told us to leave if we weren't satisfied. This kind of unprofessional behavior was not only unexpected but also made us feel unwelcome.

As patrons with a young child, we believe that restaurants should be accommodating and understanding of families' needs. The lack of attention to customer service and the dismissive attitude displayed by the server was disheartening. We hoped for a pleasant dining experience, but unfortunately, that wasn't the case. We left Che men feeling disappointed and with the impression that customer satisfaction wasn't a priority. I hope that future guests will have a more...

Came here a couple of months ago and ordered different dishes, including several desserts spending more than Ā£60. This time the manager decided to ask me to leave because I’d only ordered a coffee. I had asked if they have pastries but they don’t. Every single customer around me only had coffee or orange juice. It was before 3pm and he claimed I had been there ā€œfor 5 hoursā€ which is impossible because they open at 11am. There was a white guy sitting inside with his laptop and a coffee cup. He didn’t have a problem with him, but did with me and my laptop (claimed it’s a restaurant not a workspace for laptops). The place is at least 80% empty during the day, he said he has to pay rent and bills. I didn’t have anything charging using his precious electricity. He then had the nerve to the say he didn’t ask me to leave… Whenever I’ve been there in the mornings, the staff are having breakfast like it’s their personal dining room with no one behind the counter - I’ve never seen such a thing in my life. I accepted this as a community minded space, but it’s not at all how it is. What a ridiculous...

This has become our go to weekend breakfast/brunch/lunch place. No matter the time of year, it is always a place worth coming to, even if it means a cycling from a distance as we often do. The food is consistently delicious in flavours, portions and freshness. While we have our favourites like the menemen and appetizers, we have enjoyed everything we have tried. The service has been friendly and helpful, and it must be said that their bathrooms and facilities are always immaculate which is a great bonus you do not find elsewhere. The overall atmosphere is warm and inviting whenever we visit. Many thanks for making our weekends more enjoyable. Remaining happy customers.

I love this restaurant! Everything from the people to the special coffees and fresh food. The menu has a great range of breakfast, brunch and lunch or dinner items, all reasonably priced and with very fresh, colorful veggies. Every time I have gone, I'm greeted warmly and have had wonderful service. I love to sit outside because it feels like an oasis with the plant boxes and lights. This is truly a gem of a place! I look forward to trying the breakfast next time I'm in town. Highly recommend!

This place is a hidden gem, I use to go to cafe route for my weekly brunch and was disappointed with how the portions were reducing and prices were going up. I came across this place and can honestly say it’s the best place for breakfast/brunch. This is coming from someone who has been to nearly all of the places around Angel/ dalston. On Monday I decided to invite my family here for dinner, the lamb kebab is exceptional, tender, flavoursome and great portions too.
