I recently visited The Betjeman Arms, and it’s quickly become one of my go-to meeting spots in London. The location really can’t be beaten — right inside St Pancras International, making it ideal if you’re meeting people coming in on the Eurostar, from King’s Cross, or anywhere on the Underground. It’s especially handy when you’ve got colleagues or friends travelling from different parts of the UK, as everyone can get here easily without worrying about lengthy walks or complicated directions. The pub itself has a warm, inviting atmosphere, with a nice balance between classic British charm and the buzz you’d expect from being in one of London’s busiest stations. There’s plenty of space, whether you’re looking to grab a quick pint at the bar or sit down for a more relaxed catch-up. Prices are okay for central London — not the cheapest you’ll find, but reasonable given the convenience and setting. The food menu covers pub classics and some lighter bites, and service has been consistently friendly and efficient on my visits. If you’re after a spot that’s easy to get to, comfortable to spend time in, and good for both casual and work-related meetups, The Betjeman Arms is a solid choice.

Stopped in early for some breakfast off the train. Staff are great, and the food is well prepared and presented. No black pudding with the full English breakfast was the only real controversial drawback. I respect the decision to double up on the sausage and there was adequate amounts bacon of good quality, but smaller portions of other elements made it feel like it was the sausage and bacon show with a hired backing group. This is with the exception of the puddle of beans in the middle of the plate—although I don’t like them for breakfast I won’t complain! The lightly grilled toast was well above average. Unfortunately, the coffee was mid to poor (slightly burnt: coffee, milk or both). Good coffee would have elevated the whole experience. I don’t understand bad coffee in 2023, it’s fundamental. The choice of music was far better than usually found in chain pubs but I’m a traditionalist and would have preferred silence or radio 4! The star ratings for this review are in comparison to other such establishments and not in general.

We have been coming here as a family for over 25 years, before we had our son and after, he's now 20. I travelled solo to London today and sent a photo of my Aperol Sprotz to my husband and son saying guess where I am! They both said it would be rude, as a Kelly, to pass by without dropping in. For a train station pub you would think it's just a stop off but we have so many memories. My son watching the eurostar, us introducing our son to a safe space in London where you can relax and always have the best service. My husband and son met up with a group of friends before the Championship playoffs and had the best time. I met my sister during the covid restrictions and the staff could not have done more to accommodate us in torrential rain, hiding us under big heated umbrellas. And today. Knowing that I can drop in and have the best Aperol Spritz in the sunshine. It always feels like greeting an old friend, comforting and warm. Go now. I could sit there all day.

The Betjeman arms is a pub that surpasses all expectations. Allow me to share my enthusiastic five-star review of this remarkable establishment: This pub/restaurant's strategic location within the train station is a true blessing. Its convenient accessibility makes it the perfect place for both travellers and locals alike, offering a welcome respite from the bustling surroundings. I was able to enjoy a nice pint conveniently right after my train. The big platter of fish and chips was amazing and just what I needed with my beer. The extraordinary team members here deserve special recognition. Their warm and friendly demeanour instantly made me feel at ease, and their attentive service throughout the meal was nothing short of exceptional. They provided a delightful experience that I would recommend. Amidst the constant flow of commuters, the pub/restaurant maintains an impeccable level of cleanliness. The pristine tables, immaculate floors, and well-kept restrooms create an inviting and hygienic ambiance, contributing to an enjoyable dining atmosphere. The seamless coordination and efficiency displayed by the management and staff are praiseworthy. They run a tight ship, ensuring that each guest receives top-notch service and a memorable dining journey. Despite the bustling environment, the service was impressively swift without compromising on quality. My meal arrived promptly and was a delightful feast for the senses. Despite me only enjoying a beer, i observers the skilled bartenders deliver expertly crafted drinks that other customers enjoyed and would complement the dining experience perfectly. The hospitality extended by the staff here is heartwarming. Amidst the train station's hustle, they create a haven of warmth and genuine care, making guests feel valued and appreciated throughout their visit. In conclusion, this pub/restaurant within London's train station is a rare find that deserves every bit of praise it receives. From its strategic location to the exceptional team members, the flawless cleanliness, efficient management, prompt and high-quality service, diverse drink offerings, and heartfelt hospitality, it offers an unforgettable dining experience. I eagerly look forward to my next visit and highly recommend this establishment to all travellers and locals seeking a memorable meal in the easily...

After a poor experience on Monday 10th July, I contacted you directly by email. You have not responded. As you seem to reply to reviews left on google, I have no choice but to post my review publicly.

My wife and I dined with you today at around 1430. We chose to eat in the dining room as we have previously really enjoyed the experience. Today was very disappointing.

After we were seated the waiter explained that there was no pork chops or lamb rump available. Although we wanted the pork we chose to remain and my wife had the sausage and mash and I opted for the chicken and leek pie. As we were not working today, we also ordered a bottle of Viognier, which was excellent.

The food arrived within an acceptable time but when I cut into my pie, it was completely cold in the middle. My wife’s sausage and mash was fine. I explained the problem to the waiter who was very helpful. He took my food away and then came back and said it would be 25 minutes for a replacement meal. We didn’t have this amount of time available as we had a train to catch. He offered a complimentary portion of chips to ensure that I at least got some food. The pie was removed from the bill and also the chips were complimentary.

Whilst the waiter did his best, it was still a poor experience. The Wine was excellent and was priced around £36. I wouldn’t normally order this if I was just having a portion of chips for lunch. Your poor service ruined my lunchtime experience and the total cost to you was a free portion of chips. Please be assured that although a nice gesture, this did not fully resolve my issue.

I hope that you will appreciate that I haven’t done what most people would do and left you a poor public review. I have eaten at the Betjeman many times in the past and it has been very good. I trust that you will make every effort to return to your previous...

As always, the Betjeman Arms did not disappoint. A lovely, buzzy atmosphere, clean tables and a delicious breakfast. The food here is far far superior to the usual boring grub offered in many railway stations (and airports). However, the thing that makes the pub stand out is the lovely staff and I want to particularly give a shout out to Britney.

Britney served my partner and me last time we came here and I was very pleased to see her again because it's nice to see a familiar face in a setting where the usual state of affairs would be fast turnover of staff.

When we ate here before, Britney had had to handle the tricky situation of asking us to change tables because a large party was booking in to the back dining room. She did this with real grace and professionalism which continued while she took our order for food and drinks. She had gone off shift by the time we left and I should have made the effort to comment on here then.

The reason I am doing this now is because of an earlier unkind comment about her in another review. Members of staff here are just that and they do not have a final say over what tables are free for the public to use or not. The back dining room is currently closed as I write and, I'm assuming, would remain closed even if the bar, snug and station front dining area were heaving due to staffing levels (both front-of-house and in the kitchen), prior bookings, and management choice. Please do not bully or be mean to the young people working in this place. They are all working hard to make coming here a sweet experience but sometimes members of the public have to look beyond or set aside their expectations or even just give staff a moment to explain.

Thank you, Britney and all your lovely colleagues for making me feel welcome, looking after me and cooking me a fab...
