The glass lift up to the restaurant is a thrilling view of Saint Pancras hotel and across Kings Cross. The entrance is warm and enticing with a beautiful display of cacti and seems very promising. The view from our table was a stunning panorama of night time London with illuminated St Paul’s Cathedral and London eye. The floor to ceiling glass walled toilets are a real talking point. It all promised of a sumptuous night out.

Unfortunately this was where the charm ended. It took a very long time to get our drinks repeatedly and one of our party was bought the wrong drink, including grapefruit that interacted with her medication and she had requested not to have it .

We booked at an early evening time as we were looking for a relatively early meal as one of our party is in recovery from cancer. This was not achieved she was left feeling shaky with hunger watching others eat their starters while her simple guacamole never arrived. The food came and dribs and drabs and we were left very hungry for a very long period of time.

When the food finally came it was uninspiring, bland, poorly presented and the only thing that was hot and tasty were the potatas bravas. The vegetables were small portions on big white plates that accentuated how small and uninspiring they were and couldn’t fit on the table. I suggest the food would have looked much better presented on terracotta or earthy coloured crockery.

My main course dish came a full 20 minutes after all of the rest of the food. Too few wait staff for a restaurant at this price point left dinners feeling neglected and crockery glasses not cleared efficiently.

Our waitress on the night was polite, charming and doing the best she could in the situation and apologised. It was obvious that there was much more than one person could do.

The peach sorbet did not taste of peach and was not a refreshing fruity cleanse of the pallet that I was hoping for, but tasted strange, bitter and was left uneaten.

Absolute worst was somehow a bottle of wine that had a similar sounding name but cost over £100 more had been slipped onto the bill that we hadn’t had. When pointed out to our waitress she revealed this mistake had happened before. I’m hoping this was sloppy negligence, but I suggest if you go to this restaurant you check your bill in detail!

When picking up our coats my friend handed his numbered card was given the wrong coat on a hanger with a different number. His was a rather special coat. Let’s just say it was another reflection of poor attention to detail!

The price point of the food was not reflected in the efficiency or quality of the kitchen and was undeserving. Your head chef will run your business into the ground, he did not show he is up to the job last night. At this price point your bar and front of house need to be running more efficiently. Made reservations here mainly because we were flying in later in the day and staying at hotel across the street. As it happened, plane was late, so had to move reservations 15 minutes later, which they accommodated, so that was grand. When we arrived we were greeted by a very friendly and tall man downstairs, another positive. We were shown to our table by another lovely girl who asked how our day went. Then we sat with for about 22 minutes w zero attention from any staff. There was a table of 6, table of 4 and table of 3 in close proximity, all in the midst of eating and drinking. At last a friendly male(Adrian, at least that’s what our bill shows his name being)arrived and said hello. We ordered drinks which took another 15ish minutes to arrive. We ordered our food which was 3 apps and a Cesar salad. When I asked Adrian if the Cesar was a good portion he agreed it was and that he would make it table side and also add good vibes to it. I giggled and he said something like “no I’m serious, good vibes.” I thought that was cute! Anywho, I was annoyed, as my husband, on the amount of time we sat w no food or drinks from the start. The 4 top next to us leaves shortly after we were seated and the table is sat w a couple who has drinks within 5 minutes of sitting and food within 10 and we are still waiting for our apps. Then a runner sets an app on our table we didn’t order. So takes it back. We wait another, who knows, felt like 15 minutes for our 3 apps to be served. They were decent. A tray w a wooden bowl arrives, and a while after that a female to make the Cesar arrives. I was disappointed bc Adrian had told us he would be be preparing it w good vibes. Maybe he was uncomfortable w all the mistakes our table had endured by now because he was still attentive to his other tables. The salad was good, but drenched in way too much dressing. Or a lot more lettuce should have been added especially for $32 pounds. We were asked how the salad was and I did not complain, but was very disappointed in all that dressing coating the lettuce(I’m sure some enjoy that, just not my thing)and my husband makes a better one at home. My husband ordered the potatoes at some point and honestly that was the best part of the meal. Also, I had asked for a window table, which wasn’t granted and I made reservations a month in advance. Also, we were celebrating my husband’s birthday, which wasn’t mentioned. Adrian did show us the dessert menu but we declined ordering after looking at it. I will say it appeared that all tables around us served by Adrian were receiving good attention and service from him, BUT WE WERE NOT. It was like we were invisible. Disappointed and overall very poor. Taken a while to post this as was waiting on a response from an email my partner sent….still waiting. She has emailed again and still no reply If this restaurant has aspirations to be Michelin Starred then they are a long way from it but I believe it can get there. Like a few I was grabbed by Decimo’s appearance on Masterchef. Booked for Saturday 24th June at 2:30pm. Arrived a bit early and the front of house staff was excellent. Plenty of banter and positive vibes. After that unfortunately all a bit of a let down. Sat down ordered drinks and looked at the menu. From the menu I was unsure if this was a tapas type or individual ordering. I asked the waiter and he said the 1st two sections are tapas style and then the meat and fish section is more individual. I ordered my food and at 1st I only ordered from the top two sections, as I was still undecided and expressed this to the waiter that I would order a bit more and also from the meat and fish section later, but after my partner ordered I picked a fish meal. I only ordered a couple of the tapas type bits as in my experience when in a tapas type restaurant you can order over and over again. Our food arrived all at once, which is fine as that’s the style of the restaurant. Have to say taste wise it was okay, nothing was amazing and lacked the vital ingredient…flavour. Chiquita and Wahaca are half the price and just as good. Where I am very disappointed with our visit is, as I was still hungry I wanted to order more, I stopped the waitress and asked for another pork belly taco which she said okay. A minute later our waiter came to our table and told us that it is 3pm and the kitchen is now closed until 5pm. This for me was frustrating as at no point were we told that this was the case. Also as mentioned, I expressed to the waiter when we first ordered that I would order more later. If the kitchen closes at a certain time then this should be expressed when you sit, also don’t take bookings half an hour before the kitchen closes as it makes the customer feel rushed. Also if you are going to have a tapas type style to your menu then don’t close the kitchen. Needless to say, as I had not eaten much prior in the day, my stomach was rumbling and although the meringue dessert was very tasty I was still not happy. I’m not someone to complain and I was very close to doing so in person however my partner said she would send an email however the fact that they have yet to respond has led me to write this review.
