We spent 2 nights here after flying into Heathrow. We wanted to be close to the St Pancras Train station because we were taking the Eurostar to Paris. We planned to drop our luggage off and were pleased that they had a room available for us without additional charges, mid morning, several hours before check in time. 3 of us were in a "family room" that slept 4 in 2 twin beds and a double bed. There was not much walking space between the beds and the closet was hard to access since it was behind one of the beds. The photos on the website for this room are accurate but there are no bathroom photos. The room and bathroom were clean but the bathroom was not renovated and the sink had 2 faucets that didn't mix the hot and cold water. The bathroom was small and the shower stall had a curtain that looked dingy and some of the molding and grout didn't look fresh. My college aged daughter wanted to wear shower shoes but she didn't have any. I told her this was going to prepare her for dorm life. The hard floors were clean. We didn't miss the air conditioning since it was late May and the weather was cool. We were in a first floor room but there were still flights of stairs to access our room from the ground floor. We did get help moving our largest suitcase to the room. I would not stay in the room again though because it was too loud and bright. The windows were cracked open to let air in and the curtains were sheer so the sunlight was very bright in the room. The bright sun and city noise woke me up around 5am. The price was reasonable though and the location was great. We were able to get to the hotel from the airport on public transit and walked to St Pancras with our luggage. We were able to walk to the Postal Museum and the...
Read moreThe only good thing is the location and the wifi . The room is extremely small, the bathroom is terrible , you can not even turn inside the shower, the shower head was broken and never fixed. We booked a room that at the photos had a view, and we came at the room only to find out it is basement, way below the ground. You can see at the photos that the room was below the pavement level , so by law this means it is basement apartment and not semibasement.. We asked for a change because the one person of the room is claustrophobic, at this rabbithole room i was too. There was a cockroach raid trap poison box at the window. After the change they moved us to a room at the zero level, next to the road, with a window that did NOT have a LOCK. For crying out loud . The receptionist told me to wait so Emmanuel who is the manager would come after 8pm . I asked him at night and he told me , there is no way to lock the window and he answered me dont be afraid , WHO IS GONNA COME ? I am still laughing at this . This all would have been not a terrible experience if the description of the room matched with the booking site, it is not my responsibility to ask if the apartment is basement level , you have to seperate them . And the ground floor it is almost criminal to have NOT locking system at the windows , with just a lift somebody could jump in...
Read moreThis little hotel, a stone’s throw from Kings Cross station is better than I’d imagined. Smart appearance outside and a very helpful guy called Wilson on reception. |The building and rooms are old-fashioned and would benefit from modernisation but that said, the room was very clean and had all the basics.|Nice to see proper wooden clothes hangers.|The en-suite bathroom was clean - very small but served the purpose.||I was disappointed that the room I’d been promised on the ground floor level (due to mobility issues) had been changed to one down some very steep stairs and at cellar level. Being below ground level the noise from the underground directly under me was loud and constant. Probably only really noticeable in this downstairs room I was in. ||The smoke alarm went off at 12.30am (no fire) but between that and the underground trains I didn’t sleep well. The TV was very small but as it was a small room I guess there‘a not a lot they can do.|NB: there is no breakfast available. ||Summing up: clean, convenient and a handy location but probably wouldn’t stay again as can’t be sure I’d get an accessible room, despite having booked one, and the steep staircase which isn’t good for someone with mobility issues or elderly. (Was told I’d been bumped because someone staying more nights than me was being...
