I dined here at the beginning of August during the Eat Out to Help Out scheme. While I had booked a table online I thankfully arrived early as there was about a 20 minute queue to ask about my table. Whilst there were temperature checks outside and hand sanitiser at each table, the waiting staff did not wear any PPE and there was little social distancing within the restaurant. We were sat right behind another family with no screens between. Thankfully halfway through our meal, another table had left so I asked to move to a more socially distant table. I didn't feel very safe eating here. We ordered the 2 course set menu and a main dish but were told there was no sirloin steak left when we got there which was a shame as we wanted to go and try the steak especially on the half price deal. The calamari was pretty standard. However, we waited for over 30 minutes for our mains to arrive, so I felt like we had been forgotten as everyone else around us had received their mains and the wait staff were very busy so couldn't see us when we tried to get their attention. We ordered the slow cooked beef rib and grilled chicken so these items shouldn't really take long, we were very hungry by the time these arrived. The food was mediocre and everything seemed like it was precooked and overcooked at the same time. The chips were ok though. As I dined during Eat Out to Help Out scheme, I understand that the restaurant would have been extremely busy and during Covid-19 restaurants would need to increase the cost, however even with the half price deal I don't think I would be dining here again. I feel like they have tried to disguise their increased cost by making the set menu more appealing rather than ordering a very expensive main dishes during the half price scheme but it's not really worth it if they say they have run out of steak by 8.30PM.

I want to start off with the very misleading bottomless brunch deal which is very small in the top corner of the menu so the *message is even smaller underneath! When it came to ordering my meal I asked the lovely waitress a couple of times (and so did my friend) if it’s included in the bottomless brunch and she said yes it’s included but at no time did she clarify that the cost of the meal will be added to your bill and after not reading the tiny * message* thought it was included because that’s what happens when you buy a bottomless brunch the food is included unless it clearly states ‘drinks only bottomless brunch’ in big writing at the start! This needs to be changed because even the waitress when we queried our bill said it is misleading and she has had a few people that this has happened to as well as well as. A a couple of people over heard us and said they would read it the same as well! So a suggestion would be put it in the main text that you have to order a meal but you have to pay for the meal on top of the bottomless brunch price! Other than that the service and food and atmosphere at Bills is great!

Unfortunately I had a negative experience at Kingston Bills today. The service was non existent, with staff focused on trying to sell cocktails and not delivering basics such as bringing cutlery with the food and asking how the food was etc. I asked for some mayonnaise three times before it arrived. There was no friendliness from the staff and no atmosphere. I removed the service from the bill and the manager hardly seemed to care when I said the service was not very good and we had experienced extreme delays with basics like cutlery and sauces. The food was also not as described on the menu. I ordered chicken schnitzel with celeriac slaw and a garlic caper butter. It actually came with heavily mayonnaised coleslaw which was too drenched in mayonnaise to eat, and an excessive amount (around 30) capers with no sign of garlic or butter. As a result I had paid £17.50 for what was essentially a fried chicken breast scattered with capers as I could not eat the slaw. The meal overall was very bland and I wish I had stayed at home and had beans on toast as that would have been more enjoyable. My partner was also disappointed with their food which has bland. I had fond memories of Bill from being a frequent customer several years ago when there was a strong atmosphere and tasty food but this poor experience means I will not be...

Horrible service at bills Kingston I took my elderly mum for lunch today and the experience wasn’t good. We booked a table at the Kingston branch for 345pm. When we arrived we were left standing at the “wait to be seated sign” for 15 minutes) nobody even came and greeted us. It was a very hot day and my mum had a walking stick being 84 years old you would have thought they would have offered us a seat but when the lady came over to us she said ok let me see and left us standing for another 10 minutes it was shocking because there were seats, but she just ignored us and continued taking orders. So it looked to us like the front of house was missing today. In the end I went inside and asked again can we sit there please pointing at a table, I was told ok. We ordered and the food came quickly but no drinks came We asked for ice water and the water came half way through the meal and no ice just a jug To top it off my mum ordered a chicken burger and asked the young waitress please could you ask the Cheif to cut it in 2 or 4 pieces because I’m partially sighting. Without even considering the request she said no and looked at me and said can’t she do that. Whenever we have visited Bills in Wimbledon this has never been an issue. I am very dissatisfied by the level of service received today we...
