After visiting another coffee shop just down the road from 21 Grams only to be disappointed to find that their coffee machine wouldn't be ready for 15 minutes, we stumbled across 21 Grams quite by accident. As we approached the shop, the young lady inside saw us coming, and came to hold the door open and greet us. Despite our bumbling order due to lack of caffeine she was patient, kind and helpful. She then proceeded to make our orders with care and attention that ensured that they were exactly as we requested. Even in the short time that we were there we appreciated the calming music, relaxed atmosphere and spotless cleanliness. As we were leaving the young lady pointed us to available drink carriers to make carrying our to-go drinks order easier. Read moreDisappointed. There is no difference on the board for a have in or take away coffee. And I was still charged more for having it in. I had to ask about it and was told it is a service charge? Is it? I asked them to remove it. If you don’t want to bring the coffee to people who order it, don’t offer places to sit. Or if you want to charge more for sitting in, you gotta write in on the board and have two different prices (one for staying in and one for to go purchases). It’s unbelievable, if this adding service charge to any bill mentality stays, I definitely won’t be coming back. Let’s not forget that the machine asks you for a tip as well.
