Boulangerie Patisserie — Restaurant in London

I am not sure if things have changed from the last favourable review, roughly a year ago, that someone left, but visiting today I would not recommend this establishment. The place is filthy, so much so that if we were living in a more civilised Country, Health and Safety would have closed it down ages ago. There was a limited choice of food, no vegan options even if they were advertised in the outside sign. But I did not dear, risking a tummy bag. The cappuccino I ordered (around £3) was little more than watered down hot liquid, and the tables were sticky. The person in charge was friendly enough but seemed more interested in looking at her phone than cleaning the food counters. The café was styled as a vaguely Arabic/Middle-Eastern bistro, with prominent "Halal"...

As mentioned in the reviews the cafe is laid back and seems to have built a local following in a short time.

My lemon 🍋 meringue tart was a generous portion but the upper part was the sweetest I had in recorded memory and frankly inedible.

It was also not the soft topping one would expect in a patisserie which is not surprising as it was loaded with sugar granules.

If I pass by the area again I will try other items on offer and hopefully improve the rating on...

The food is absolutely gorgeous! I've never been disappointed by any item, either savoury or sweet. Will always choose them over the Starbucks opposite. I come regularly for takeaway items and bring friends when I want coffee; the menu changes and I have yet to try it all. It's very warm inside, which can be great or not, depending on the weather.
