Yeah really rated it at Boulebar. Came for a company party so I wasn’t paying so can’t comment on value but we were immediately welcomed by our hosts Palak who I instantly clicked with as having good chat, a bit of banter and not taking things too seriously. I can be a bit cheeky and push my luck a bit, but Palak dished it back out and instantly put me in my place from the off, which is 10/10 chat.
We had our drink vouchers explained to us and had lots of flexibility with when food came out/games were starting etc. Drinks were really impressive, with a lot of thought gone into presentation and quality. No request was too much for the team and our food came out nice and quickly. I think the food could do with a bit more seasoning as the veggie wrap, nachos and tacos were a bit plain, but it did the job - burgers were on point though.
The game is a bit of fun but got a bit boring after two/three throws, but it’s more of just something to have a laugh with.
The staff were all super friendly and impressive - they really made my night, especially Palak who is a 10/10 employee and should be protected at all costs. Ollie, who I guess was the manager, was really friendly, accommodating and a nice level of informal - it felt like speaking to a friend. The team behind the bar and other waiting staff were friendly and up for a laugh - the perfect vibe we needed. Some of the team let off some silly confetti cannons without asking - I’d be fuming if it was my bar but the team took it on the chin, had a laugh and even offered to clean up, which of course we didn’t allow.
As an aside, they should probably put a price on the photobooth as my colleague proudly exclaimed that it was FREE! FREE PHOTOS! but it actually transpires they were a fiver. Definitely worth it to have memories of a great evening, but this could have been made a bit more clear. Good place to hide if you want some peace and quiet though.
They also stock Sassy Maison Cider (three flavours) which is one of the best drinks out there so I was chuffed to see that.
Overall super impressive and a particular shout out to Ollie and Palak who were 10/10 and the highlight of my night. Well done team. Top...
Read moreFirstly, my friends arrived and no one seated them for 15 minutes even though there was loads of empty tables and multiple members of staff looked at them and said they had to wait for a manager to serve them.
After arriving, I went to the bar and ordered a drink which had to be changed because all the glasses were dirty (lipstick marks) and I was told “it’s because of limescale”.
I then went to the burger shack and asked to order food and was told I had to go to the bar to order. I went back to the bar and waited another 20 minutes because it was so disorganised to order. I then get to the front and they tell me I can’t order food at the bar and the bartender was incredibly rude and said “no she told you, you have to order at your table”. I told her that I was specifically told to go and order at the bar and she basically snapped at me and said I can’t order there so I left and went back to my table.
I then went back to the table and ordered food from there, but my friend was told she wasn’t able to order food from the table. We were all constantly told something different and it was like pulling teeth to get a drink or some food.
After eating I tried to order another drink from the table and was told I wasn’t able to order drinks at the table. This place is an absolute shambles. There was sick all over the toilets. No toilet paper. Terrible service. We asked multiple times for condiments and they weren’t brought over and when they were the ketchup was weird and watery.
We were so fed up, we just left. Would completely avoid and go next door. Much nicer...
Read moreCame for a work function and had a brilliant time. The venue is lovely, the music creates a good vibe and the food was fantastic - the bacon double cheeseburger with bbq sauce might be the best burger I’ve eaten, and I’ve eaten lot of burgers in my time.
The only area for improvement was towards the end when we ordered some drinks - firstly, we were told that we could not have ordinary rose as they’d ran out, so we ordered some sparkling rose instead. After waiting for it for 15 minutes over to the right hand side, we enquired, to be told that there was none left. We asked to switch it for Prosecco but were told that we could not do this for some reason, so had to switch to a Pinot Grigio. This was very much a first world problem, let’s be honest, but a little chaotic. I think that the issue was somewhat created by our function drinking them slightly dry, so it could have been partially of our own doing.
Nonetheless, it was a great afternoon and I’d fully...
