We chose this place for a romantic dinner as our last stop before flying back to USA the next day. The experience was at least to say horrible. They “shoved” us in a corner away from main sitting area because why? We were not dressed or looked to their liking? They had many booths available in the main area, but we were not offered to choose. Staff were rude, smiles fake and zero customer service. We were never offered a glass of water. We were never offered a second drink. We were never asked if we need anything, or if we like the food. Steak was not cooked to our likeness, was underseasoned and was the thinnest steak I have ever had in my life. Definitely should not cost the price they charge for it. It was so unpleasant to look at it that I did not even take a picture of it. Greens on the side of the steak were old looking and wilted. Salad had so much dressing in it that greens were “swimming” in it. Salad itself was brought to us in one bowl while it must be separated since we had two people at the table. Plus, house salad had nuts on top of it and no one asked us if we have any allergies to them, causing potential health risk to its customers. The only time they asked us about our experience is when we asked for the bill. The lady, that did not serve us, was pleasant and asked us to wait and see what she can do. She came back with a bill cut in half. Be aware, gratitude is included in the meal, making staff to be more arrogant and selectively indifferent towards customers. You only see it on the bottom of the menu with a fine print. If there would be an option, we would give this...

Worst experience ever! Avoid. Go anywhere else. The food portions are much smaller than they used to be and more expensive. All the food came out at different times. When it arrived all the steak was cold and raw in the middle, despite being ordered medium rare/rare. The waiter asked us if the food was ok before we had even tried it as it took so long to come out. When we realised the food was undercooked and cold we were unable to find a waiter to inform them. When we finally found someone we told him and he immediately started arguing with me and told me rudely it was too late and he came round to ask us 3 times if the food was ok and shouted loud enough for the whole table to hear. He did not. He went to get the manager and when I told her the waiter was very rude to me she just responded with ‘I find that very hard to believe. He’s the sweetest person ever.’ Appalling!! They refused to compensate anything on the menu instead offering us ‘shots’ for the table which had no alcohol content when they arrived. The following day some of them members of our group were unwell from the food.

Needless to say we will never be returning to any black and blue, despite having enjoyed their other locations this experience ruined our entire night and left a bad taste...

Dining at Black and Blue Waterloo is truly a delightful experience. Situated just steps away from the bustling Waterloo Station, this modern steakhouse under a Victorian brick railway arch offers more than just a meal. It’s a culinary journey.

The baby ribs at Black and Blue are a standout. These smoked baby back pork ribs, served with a tangy barbecue sauce, fries, and a house salad, are both generous and satisfying. The meat is tender, falling off the bone, and perfectly captures that deep smoky flavour. The portion size is substantial enough to leave you feeling full but still craving more with each bite.

The sausage and mash dish is another highlight. This classic comfort food is elevated at Black and Blue, featuring high-quality sausages that are juicy and flavorful, served on a bed of smooth, creamy mashed potatoes. Accompanied by green beans and a rich peppercorn sauce, it’s a hearty meal that exemplifies the best of British cuisine.

Both dishes are well-portioned, ensuring that you get great value for your money while enjoying an exquisite dining experience. With rave reviews about the consistent quality of these dishes, it’s no wonder Black and Blue has earned such a strong reputation among locals and...

We came back here for the first time after 10 years, OMG it was just as amazing as the first time. We were greeted and seated by Simeon who was our waiter, he gave us the choice of a window seat or booth, we choose a booth. After quickly being seated we examined the menu and knew what we wanted to choose. We ordered a bottle of Merlot and our starters and main. I opted for the chickens satay skewers and my partner chose the butterfly prawns. Both started were superb and well seasoned, for our mains we chose a ribeye steak each, cooked medium rare and I opted for the sautéed mushrooms, our steaks melted in your mouth and would rival another well known steak house brand; our fries and my mushrooms were well seasoned and accompanied with a peppercorn sauce. We opted for dessert, I had the ice cream sundae and my partner chose the sticky toffee pudding with another bottle of wine. Simeon was more than happy to supply this and was very attentive at making sure everything was ok with our meals. As a final before leaving we opted for a baby Guinness shot; everyone and the atmosphere in the restaurant was superb for a return visit after soo long. Thank you soo much Simeon and to the other waiters and waitresses for a lovely evening.

This place has a great atmosphere and might be good for burgers and drinks, but don't expect the best-organized service or great steaks. After sitting down, it took about 5 minutes to be greeted by the server. He was a pleasant fellow, but English was not his first language. We order our drinks and appetizers. About 5 minutes later, we had another server come to take our drink order again. We explained that it had already been placed, but he said no matter - it mattered to me, I did not need to order it twice. For the main course, I ordered sirloin steak - medium, salad, and fries (these were the options). The steak was so tough that my fork could not stab it, and my steak knife struggled to cut it. In addition, the fat was poorly trimmed. If you are looking for a night out with friends for bar food and drink, this place is fine. However, if you are taking someone on a date for dinner, avoid Black and blue Waterloo.
