We have been twice to this honest burger now. The first time we fine. The food was good. The member of staff looking after us was pleasant and professional. Overall, it was a good dining experience. We went back last night and the gentleman looking after us was cold and unprofessional. He did not greet us... OK, no big deal. It is a busy restaurant. He came back and just stood by the table and looked up towards the ceiling just before asking us if we were ready to order. He really looked exasperated from the get go. When we finished, he just stepped away without saying anything. Then the food was delivered by another member of staff and she was delightful. Great job from her! The first waiter did spend a lot of time chatting woth one particular customer. I see no problem with that but when the people sat on the next table to ours asked for the bill, he looked really bother. He walked away and came back with the bill. He literally just flinged it on their table. I was shocked by his behaviour.
As we were treating our adult children that we see just a few times a year, I did not want to make a fuss and just wanted to enjoy the evening with the family.
Then my wife called him to ask for some water. He turned round and shouted a very drawn YESSSSSS. Again, he really came across as unprofessional and rude.
Finally, my son went to see another member of staff at the bar to pay the bill to avoid having to deal with the waiter and also because we were b3ing overcharged. My son was told that someone will be with us shortly.
The same waiter came back. He asked us if we wanted to split the bill. He was looking up once again as if he really didn't want totalk to us. My wife told him that it was just one bill. He did not react. Then he said in a very unpleasant manner: YESSS? At that point I asked him what he meant by yes in a firm but respectful manner. He repeated his question. I told him that my wife already replied and that I would be paying the whole bill. I also.asked him to remove the promotional item from the bill.
I paid and there was again none of the usual courtesy. We left. We will not come back.
This is a shame as we have been customers of Hinest Burgers for years and we have always known the staff to be courteous and professional...
The food was excellent but not...
Read moreNestled just off the vibrant South Bank, Honest Burgers offers more than just a meal—it delivers an experience rich in comfort, flavour, and genuine hospitality.
From the moment I entered, the rustic ambiance provided a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The entire staff were attentive and kind, with special recognition for Dionne, whose warmth and care truly stood out. She was reassuring in her steadfastness that everything—aside from the non-gluten buns—was entirely gluten-free, instilling a deep sense of trust and ease.
As someone with coeliac disease, dining out can be a challenge. It’s been over a decade since I could safely enjoy anything deep-fried, so I approached the gluten-free BBQ chicken tenders with caution—and left absolutely amazed. The tenders were a highlight: beautifully crisp, full of smoky-sweet barbecue flavour, and—most importantly—entirely safe for someone as sensitive to cross-contamination as I am. Each bite brought back a joy I hadn’t tasted in years.
The culinary journey didn’t end there. I also indulged in the Tribute Burger with rosemary salted chips. The beef patty was cooked to perfection, its rich, savoury notes harmonising exquisitely with the accompaniments. The Tribute Burger features Honest beef, bacon, American cheese, burger sauce, French’s mustard, pickles, onion, and lettuce. Each component contributed to a symphony of flavours, making every bite a delight. The freshness of the food shone through, with each dish arriving piping hot and clearly prepared with care.
Honest Burgers South Bank isn’t just accommodating—it’s thoughtful, reflecting care in every aspect of the experience, from the food to the service. It’s a place that understands the importance of trust when it comes to dietary needs, without compromising on flavour or creativity.
A heartfelt thank you to Dionne and the entire team - I genuinely can’t wait to return to try more of the menu!! Fantastic job to all at...
Read moreHonest burgers, but NOT SO HONEST staff. We visited in June of this year. We arrived (party of 2) and were places in a queue at the door, we were told it should be about 15 mins. About 10 minutes later, two ladies joined the queue and stood behind us to wait. After about 5 mins, one of the ladies went to the hostess and told her “can you just seat us quickly and we won’t tell anyone” the hostess then said “ok go stand in queue (this was behind us again) and i will call yall over.” After about 30 secs they were called to be seated. I immediately went to the hostess and her response was “oh I thought you left” this is after looking at me dead in the eye and calling the girls behind us. Ask to speak to her manager and basically the manager sided with her, said that she is new and made a mistake and that she thought we left. I told her we would like to be seated now, she said she only had seats in the window (stools) or outside. I let her know that we would be leaving a 1 star review, her response “well then you should find somewhere else to eat if that’s your intention.” We were starving and had just come off an 11 hour flight and it was one of the few places that offered a vegetarian burger nearby. So we ended up sitting outside in the cold and drizzling rain, while the customers behind us enjoyed a prime seat in the warm restaurant. Eventually we asked to move as the weather and temperature weren’t ideal. The food is honestly great, but not worth it with...
